RE: Weekly Steem Stats Report - Monday, April 6, 2020

Noticed the changes as well and I think this is dramatic for the Steem chain. I have the feel most of the curator groups are gone, next to many of the dApps as well as some of the sister-chains created with an earlier version of Steem UI. I do hope Steem will find its ways to grow again. Unfortunately the Steem witnesses drew the next wave of bashing upon themselves by the softfork executed last weekend. Steemit Inc is not doing a lot better, to state they are independent regarding the softfork, but the top 20 witnesses got kicked out immediately after some of them expressed their vote against the softfork.

I really HOPE TRON and Steemit Inc and Steem Witnesses and the Steem community members can all join hands, and rebuild what has been destroyed and find the ways to improve and become better again. I would hate to see Steem being destroyed :(

Sort:

Steemit is just throwing their weight around. Nobody else gets a say in who the witnesses are. Freezing the assets of users is just ridiculous. I did not totally agree with the old witnesses doing that, but felt we could trust them to not do it indefinitely. It was just a bargaining chip against a possibly hostile force. The latest action is just revenge.

I thought Steem had a great future, but events have proved it was vulnerable to attack by the Steemit stake. Hive is not perfect either, but has more of a spread of stake.
