When I hear the word frozen I immediately think of opening the refrigerator door, and the same goes for the term frozen shoulder, I'm sure there is something that makes our shoulders frozen or hardened so that they cannot be moved.

❄️ What is Frozen Shoulder?

After reading all of the material provided in this course I was able to understand that frozen shoulder is just like the hinges on a door, these hinges are used to move the door so that it can be opened and closed.

So, frozen shoulder is similar to a door hinge that is "frozen" or "rusted" so that the person experiencing it will feel a condition where their shoulder is difficult to move and painful. In addition, this condition usually occurs in people aged between 40 and 60 years. This condition does not occur without cause, of course there are several causes so that someone can experience frozen shoulder conditions, including lack of movement, age factors, the influence of diabetes, and other medical conditions.

🧪 How is frozen shoulder diagnosed? Are there clinical investigations or assessment tests?

There are several ways to diagnose someone with frozen shoulder, Firstly we can diagnose that someone has frozen shoulder by conducting an interview, if someone complains about pain in their shoulders and muscles then we can confirm that they have frozen shoulder.

Secondly, people who have frozen shoulder will have difficulty in moving their muscles, so we can do a physical examination by asking them to do some movements such as raising their arms above their head, asking them to comb their hair, rotating their shoulders, and other movements. If they have difficulty in moving their arms in certain directions then we can diagnose that the person has a frozen shoulder condition.

We can perform a clinical evaluation and a number of tests to assess that a person has a frozen shoulder condition by taking an x-ray, the frozen shoulder examination is not very visible when using this tool, but here we can confirm that there is no bone damage to the shoulder.

Furthermore, by using an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) test, this tool is able to capture clearer and more detailed images of the soft tissues in the shoulder, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

🏋️‍♂️ Trial Exercises

I have tried some of the exercises given in this course, before starting the exercise I started by doing some warm-up movements for 5 minutes, this aims to make all the muscles of the body not stiff. Then I tried to practice one by one the exercise movements as in the video in this course, besides that I also did some shoulder muscle training movements that I often do daily at home, you can watch it in the video below.

🤦‍♂️ What you feel after the workout

At first I underestimated all of the moves in the course, but after I did a few moves I started to notice that my shoulder muscles started to feel heavier, meaning that this simple exercise had a pretty heavy impact on the shoulder muscles.

Also, after a few minutes of doing the exercises, my shoulder muscles still felt like they had some weight on them, but I think this is normal, by doing the exercises in the video more often, we will avoid the problem of frozen muscles.

Thanks for highlighting the importance of staying healthy through physical exercise. It is inspiration for all of us. Good luck for the contest.

Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.

Observations

Task 1 (2/3)
You have shared knowledge about frozen shoulder it's second name but you didn't add knowledge about its stages, phases, and types. You need to add a bit more depth about frozen shoulder. I appreciate your effort.

Task 2 (2.7/3)
In the second question, you have share your knowledge about frozen shoulder examination, investigations and assessment. But the main thing is you have to add at least 1 or 2 special tests like speed test, yergason test, and many more. You answer this question well. Good.

Task 3 (3.8/4)
You try the wand shoulder flexion, shoulder circles, and scapula retraction in a good way. But scapula retraction should be performed like you have retracte both scapula medially or inward otherwise you performed all the exercises in correct way. Remember always apply heating pad before performing these exercises. I appreciate your efforts.

Overall you made a good try to answer all the questions. You feel heaviness after performing exercises because you didn't mobilize your shoulder regularly and muscles fatigue early when you perform given exercises. It would be better to add few movements in your daily routine that improve your shoulder movement. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from any shoulder pathology or you suffer from such condition. Thank you.
