RE: The February Contest#1 by sduttaskitchen | How can we overcome domestic violence? / Wie können wir häusliche Gewalt überwinden?

Out of 100 clients who leave their abusive partner after (one-off or ongoing) experiences of violence and seek protection in a women's refuge, 68% go back to their abuser in the short or medium term. 24% do not do this, but purposefully look for a new and again violent partner.

Reading this part has kept me dumbfounded. How will someone seek to go back to her oppressor after been saved, is it that her love language is “been beaten up”?

The people who suffers it most will be the kids especially the male child because growing up in a family were you see your father beating your mum every day, will make you think is normal and when such children grow, they replicate such behavior to their wives.

Like you mentioned in the post , women need to be independent to make their money and stop relying on men … I wish my Nigerian women can see this part of your post because 80% are in this boat.

True! I think 80% of worldwide female population is in that boat. Most of them choose it themselves. My mind rebels against such things.
