If I Could Enter the Harry Potter World – My Own Choice of Character, What I Would Change, and Who I Still Rate More
From when they first released the Harry Potter film till now, it has been one of those stories that can carry a person’s mind into another universe. The magic, the school, the characters, even the dark troubles – everything joined together made it solid. But if they agreed and said “Boy, come choose your own role inside this Harry Potter matter,” I wouldn’t waste time. I have thought about it very well, and this is my explanation.
Which character would you love to play from the Harry Potter story? Rationale!
If I am honest, the character that hooks me the most is Severus Snape. Many people always look at Snape like a wicked teacher who never smiles, but if you really study him well, the man has one of the deepest storylines in the whole series.
Snape is someone whose life did not favor him from the beginning. As a child, he suffered rejection, bullying, heartbreak, and even when he joined Voldemort’s gang, it was love that pushed him, not wickedness. The love he had for Lily Potter (Harry’s mother) was what carried him through life. His sacrifice was bigger than what most characters did in the story.
Why would I like to play him? Because Snape showed that sometimes, you don’t need everybody to clap for you before you do the right thing. He stood strong, even though everybody thought he was wicked, but in the end, he protected Harry more than all of them. Imagine that scene where he was dying in Deathly Hallows, and he told Harry, “Look at me” because he wanted to see Lily’s eyes for the last time. My guy, that moment touched me.
So yes, if I were inside the Harry Potter world, Snape is the one I would play. The man represents pain, love, and sacrifice – and I can relate to that. Life is not always sweet, but you can still stand for what you believe.
If you have an opportunity to recreate the film, which things would you like to change? Why?
As much as the film is a classic, there are still things I would adjust.
Snape’s Backstory – More Deep
The film did not give Snape full justice like the book. In the movie, it was near the end we got to see his real story, but I would spread it better. Let people see earlier that this man was carrying a heavy burden. That way, the audience would respect his journey more.
Ginny and Harry’s Love Story
Honestly, the film ruined this romance. In the book, Harry and Ginny had more chemistry, more reason why they clicked. In the film, it just looked like Harry saw her, smiled a little, and boom – love. I would recreate that romance so it would be sweet and believable.
Neville Longbottom Power Up
I always feel Neville deserved more spotlight. That guy started off like a clumsy student, but he ended like a hero who killed Nagini. If I were the director, I would show gradual strong moments that prepared him to shine. Not just a last-minute surprise.
Dobby’s Death Scene
Dobby died too quickly, and it pained me. I would make that scene longer, emotional, and show the bond between him and Harry properly. That way, viewers would cry even more.
Add More Diversity
Honestly, the Harry Potter world looked like only one race existed. I would add characters from different backgrounds – African, Asian, Caribbean wizards who would spice the story up. After all, magic has no nationality.
All these changes are not to spoil J.K. Rowling’s work, but to make it more rounded, more deep, more reflective of the world we live in.
Apart from your choice of character, which other character do you love in the creation of Harry Potter? Justify the reason!
Apart from Snape, the character I love the most is Hermione Granger.
Why? Because Hermione represents brains, discipline, and courage. She is the one who balances Harry and Ron. Without Hermione, those boys would have died like ten times before the end of book two.
Hermione is not just smart, she is stubborn too. Even when people laughed at her as a “know-it-all,” she never slowed down. She showed young girls that the brain is powerful, and you don’t need to pretend to be dull just because people are uncomfortable with your intelligence.
Another reason I rate Hermione is her sense of justice. Remember how she started S.P.E.W. (Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare)? She didn’t just care about herself, she thought of oppressed beings too. That kind of mindset is something many humans don’t have.
Plus, let’s be honest: Emma Watson killed that role. The way she acted Hermione was perfection. She gave life to the character, and that’s why many fans still call her “the brightest witch of her age.”
So yes, Snape is my character to play, but Hermione is my number one respect outside that.
My reflection on the Harry Potter world
Sometimes when I think of Harry Potter, it reminds me of life itself. Every character is a representation of real human struggles.
- Harry shows that no matter how bad your background is, you can still rise.
- Ron shows that even if you don’t have money or prestige, loyalty and heart matter.
- Snape shows that even broken people can do great things.
- Hermione shows that knowledge is power.
- Voldemort shows that obsession with power usually ends in destruction.
If you put all these lessons together, you will see that Harry Potter is not just a children’s fantasy. It is life lessons wrapped inside magic.
Conclusion
So if they called me one day and said, “Boy, choose your role inside Harry Potter,” I wouldn’t think twice – I would choose Snape. The man’s pain, sacrifice, and hidden heroism speak to me.
If I could recreate the film, I would polish the love stories, give side characters more shine, add diversity, and give Snape and Dobby fuller justice.
And for the character I still love apart from my choice, I would pick Hermione – because her brains, courage, and sense of justice inspire the most.
At the end of the day, Harry Potter is one world that can make you laugh, cry, and reflect on your own life. And that is why, even many years after, we are still talking about it.
