RE: ART (comment) Contest : The Face Of...
On January 1, 2024, I began a year-long project to protest my government’s crimes in Palestine. I kept my income under the U.S. poverty threshold to avoid paying tax to weapons dealers. I documented the project thoroughly. It has been an eye-opening experience. I am in the process of writing a book about it. Many paintings were made on the subject. Day 5 of Starving the Sociopaths Project. Fun. is painted on a blackout curtain (32 x 80") given to me by a friend at one of my Friday mini-Stuckist exhibitions held in my home during the winter months. Many of my 2024 paintings were about chastising the community for its silence on Gaza that is deafening.

Thank you @jayes-art!
You went through a lot and it takes courage to act the way you did. I admire the fact that you refuse to pay for weapon dealers. Such a project takes a lot of energy and knowledge. Will the book contain your paintings as well?
Don't forget to tell me if it's available.
What does a mini Stuckist exhibition look like and how many times you had one during the winter?
Now you added some information about your project it makes your paintings more special.
What we see is painted on a black curtain?
Somehow I believe this is unique and would look great for decorating a wall (or door).

Yes, it was painted on the blackout curtain that a friend gave me, knowing that my expenses had to be kept low (supplies can get expensive!). The Friday min-exhibitions (here) began in autumn, 2023 and carried over until spring, 2024. I would hang a week’s worth of work in my dining room on Friday afternoon, and host a “happy hour”, inviting all and sundry over for tapas and cocktails. Sometimes we’d discuss the work, sometimes not.
I am flirting with the idea of adding paintings in the book. It would raise the cost of printing significantly, but I think it would add more depth.
I’m keeping below the poverty line again this year. We’ll see how long I can last:)
A typical mini-exhibition of work before opening doors to friendly public!
Here is that painting in the wall in my kitchen.
