ART (comment) Contest : The Face Of...

Kopie van Monster.jpg

The idea was to show the real face of... Christmas.
Bing.com created some creepy Santa faces and after I changed the 'search' a bit the members of the happy "family" were all shown with a disfigured face.

Are you artistic?

This contest is for you. Instead of Christmas you can create what the year 2024 looked liked by showing one piece of your art + description.
Was it a warm embrace, illness, money, all about a void, new life or?

Entries

Paintings, drawings, photography, music, videos, sculptures, poetry, it's all permitted as long as it is created by you and you can show some proof.

You can relax: There's no need to make a post you can add your entry in the comment section and skip the markdowns if you don't feel to it.

Please note that the first hashtag is #artonsteemit and your next #outofthebox

Is there something to gain?

You can

  • connect with your inner soul
  • see other artists at work and show support
  • meet, greet, ask, share
  • win the prize set (we will see how to divide it and if there can be added something extra depending on the entries).

On January 1, 2024, I began a year-long project to protest my government’s crimes in Palestine. I kept my income under the U.S. poverty threshold to avoid paying tax to weapons dealers. I documented the project thoroughly. It has been an eye-opening experience. I am in the process of writing a book about it. Many paintings were made on the subject. Day 5 of Starving the Sociopaths Project. Fun. is painted on a blackout curtain (32 x 80") given to me by a friend at one of my Friday mini-Stuckist exhibitions held in my home during the winter months. Many of my 2024 paintings were about chastising the community for its silence on Gaza that is deafening.

Very interesting to read your content and your subject matter…great paintings too 💫

You went through a lot and it takes courage to act the way you did. I admire the fact that you refuse to pay for weapon dealers. Such a project takes a lot of energy and knowledge. Will the book contain your paintings as well?
Don't forget to tell me if it's available.
What does a mini Stuckist exhibition look like and how many times you had one during the winter?
Now you added some information about your project it makes your paintings more special.

What we see is painted on a black curtain?
Somehow I believe this is unique and would look great for decorating a wall (or door).

Yes, it was painted on the blackout curtain that a friend gave me, knowing that my expenses had to be kept low (supplies can get expensive!). The Friday min-exhibitions (here) began in autumn, 2023 and carried over until spring, 2024. I would hang a week’s worth of work in my dining room on Friday afternoon, and host a “happy hour”, inviting all and sundry over for tapas and cocktails. Sometimes we’d discuss the work, sometimes not.
I am flirting with the idea of adding paintings in the book. It would raise the cost of printing significantly, but I think it would add more depth.
I’m keeping below the poverty line again this year. We’ll see how long I can last:)

A typical mini-exhibition of work before opening doors to friendly public!

Here's a portrait of myself and yes, it does portray the encompassing experiences I had in 2024. The year was a real one for me, I realized a lot of things about myself, about life and I saw myself grow so well artistically.

There were many days with storms but help always come before the storms gets the opportunity to throw me away. Let's say the beauty palette knife strokes were the storms I encountered and the Beautiful large smile on my face is the proof that I always get to overcome the storms with big wins at the end.

Seeing this face all I see is being overjoyed.

It seems the year of the Dragon did work out better than expected. This portait is a good one to safe and have a look at during moments od despair. Even if you can not hang every piece on your walls keep this one to remind you what 2024 looked like and how you felt.

With or without brushes we can create a better world. Did you visit ronthroop's account?
Hold on to this one, it's a lucky charm.

🍀♥️

Thank you very much. Yes I did, he has something great going on. I dropped him a comment yesterday also.
