17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
MESSAGE
The spirit of covetousness is not of the Lord. Coveting an item that is not yours is not good. The spirit of covetousness can cause a person to do so many evil things that will affect others negatively. Greed, stealing, envy, and even murder are the fruits of covetousness. So, if you feel an overwhelming desire to possess your neighbor's belonging, pray to God for assistance before it escalates.
