RE: Igniting the imagination and creative energy ⚡️
I have known a couple of people that don't seem to get that roleplaying is exactly that (not being obsessed with the game rules/mechanics and relying entirely on the dice rolls). One I never played with but got told about by players that had played with them before, the other I did play with and he may as well have just handed us scripts (all of us are fine with drama but that's not what we were there for y'know?).
Roleplaying with kids is awesome fun crazy times XD Well it was with the recent group of homeschooled kids I had playing Changeling: The Dreaming, poor things want me to run more games but I just don't have the time to set them up now!
Wizards is probably concentrating too hard on Magic: The Gathering, seems some new sets got released recently and everyone went nuts (the three boys in the house all play).
Haha that sounds annoying. Game mechanics is the means to an end, and the smoother it is, the more enabling it is for role-playing.
You're right about kids too - my daughter has had one adventure now, and she's all "when can we play next? when? when!" She's loving it :-)
Don't know about Wizards though. They've sat on it since TSR went bust. (TSR bought the ailing SPI and then junked all the good staff and let the great games wither...)
But I'm not bitter (after all these years hahahaha)
Love your post 🌞
I have this "bad" habit of using the game rules/mechanics as a guideline XD
LoL you've created a monster! XD
Well what I very vaguely meant was that MTG seems to be Wizard's flagship and they seem to put a lot more effort into their card games than anything else. Like I didn't even know they had roleplaying games.
I guess that's my point. Neither do they - unless it's D&D 🙃
XD
DnD was the first tabletop I ever played. And the one I liked least XD I was rather surprised I didn't enjoy it much as I'd played Baldur's Gate and the expansions prior to then and enjoyed those. But it was the gateway drug XP
But yeah - point taken about MTG
