Monkey's Wedding: 5 Minute Freewrite

If opposites attract, then it's also true that you're drawn to your roots. Perhaps, to passers-by, the couple seemed like opposites, but she knew that so much of who she was, was thanks to him. Because while they were different (and boy howdy, she liked her bananas greenish, he liked to throw his feces) they were still so very much the same. Ninety-six percent the same, in terms of DNA.

There was much conflict in the planning of the grand event, but both the bride and the groom could agree on an outdoor wedding. The bride felt that, too often, families are divided across sides. So the ushers showed human and primates alike to their seats on either side of the aisle. She wanted her new in-laws to get comfortable with her family of origin. She wasn't expecting kumbayas and rainbows, but she knew they'd be grooming each other before long. I mean, what is grooming but nit-picking, literally? And her family was gifted at the metaphorical variety. So it was going to work out. It had to. She loved him. And she had a bundle of humonkey joy on the way.
