Home Alone: 5 Minute Freewrite

For about half of the year, I'm home alone during most of the day. This is good, ostensibly, for the budget. Home alone means Tom is gigging, and Tom gigging means I feel less pressure to take every freelance gig that comes my way. Tom gigging means more means with which to spoil loved ones. More freedom.

But having Tom home, while it comes at the price of losing the above, is still preferable. Having Tom home means more time for creative collaboration. Energy for more connection. Time together without a clock ticking down to bedtime or commute. Spreadsheets full of ideas of things to do. Even lost days, during which nothing feels satisfying and nothing is getting done, feel found when your partner says, "it's okay. Today we're going to snuggle and watch TV and pet the cats and that's all we need to do today."
