You know after yesterday's free write I really realized what was it that I liked and disliked about words. I think because I have this need to be different or say different things, that I am going this route. I thought a lot about historical linguistics and my love for etymology but realized I do very little on the subject today. Meaning, I'm not looking things up like I used to. This could help me keep accountability on learning. Yes, even people who love learning get complacent. That's why I think this little hack could be a win win and I could share some wonderfully crazy ass theories etc pertaining to the prompt.

Maybe on the days I dont have anything to say or my brain hasn't anything to say about a PROMPT, maybe we should go over some historical linguistics; etymology of the word and find out where it came from, how much has it changed along the way and weather or not it still resembles anything close to the origin word it once came from.

circle

Derived from the word circus, circle today is used to signify a shape, round but if you think about what it is that these circus shows do. They run shows that show us a motorcycle in a (round) cage, a lion with no rage jumping through hoops, the flying trapeze artist flip; and what do they have in common? They are going in circles.

Also the word circle has astrological roots as well. As it should. We are in a sphere. Surrounded by a sphere of constellations that predictably turn throughout each day in the motion of a circle. You see the precession of the Zodiac signs start at 6am at the head, Aries and end at the feet, Pieces 5:59am. In two hour intervals we move through the precession of the astrological signs every two hours. So by 8am we are in Taurus, by 10am Gemini and so on.

As we move through the astrologicalsigns throughout our day, youll notice that things line up. Like Cancer at noon, signifies the stomach/digestion. At noon we arent only eating lunch but digesting what we ate earlier. By the end of our day; feet are sore, etc. Our words arent the only things that connect, our astrological signscinnect to our every day lives. Just like the secret connections between words, we live our lives connected very much to the stars above.

Just think of any word that has the same prefix as circle. circumcision; well they cut the foreskin from around the Male genitals. Circumstances; the situation around a particular person place or thing. There's that 'round' theme.
