RE: What's A Salad? A Complete Meal Or A Part Of It???

in #food7 years ago

I consider salad as a complete meal (only if once add the required nutrition in one bowl of salad). I try to skip one time meal and replace it with salad. Thanks for the recipe. I will try it but will skip the rice.

My pleasure to know you who too take salad as a complete meal.

For me, I only take one meal a day. So I add a little cereal for adding some complex carbs in my diet. I too don't add rice often but prefer to add millet daliya or soaked oats. But it was a long time that I didn't get to eat rice. I wanted to add red rice but that were not in stock. So I added rice. But yeah, I agree that it's not at all needed in the salad.

How do you survive with one meal only?

I dunno but I do 😊.
Perhaps I get the required nutrition from my meal. I think taking 3 or 4 meals a day only promotes pshychological hunger while in reality, we ain't hungry physiologically. Or may be my body has adjusted to one meal routine. It's been only a few years for me with this routine.

But I'm open to snacks in the late afternoon and take some juice or soup or smoothies or some fruits in case I'm home at that hour. So that also supplements my diet a bit ...and ofcourse, I take a coffee or lemongrass tea too (don't always add tea leaves though).

Did you discuss it with any dietician ? Are you sure thats the healthy way?
Well I agree that one should skip dinner and replace it with fruits/salad but I really wonder if its ok to skip 2 meals all together

Well, no. But I didn't go to the dietician for taking 4 meals a day too. In fact, there are several people in my community who take only one meal a day for decades without facing any health issues.
It all started some years back when I stopped eating anything after Sun down. So it was a challenge to be at home before Sunset for my dinner. It was then I decided to follow one meal routine for my convenience and my body has adapted well to it by now.

Great if its working for you without any health threat. Do you go for any exercise too? I mean hows your stamina considering your one meal.

To give you a perspective, I made a 1500 km journey on foot (with about 15 kg rucksack always on my back) all alone in 2016. Few months later, I'm planning to cycle some states to give a company to my friend who is cycling across the country this year.

I don't know your benchmarks for measuring stamina but I hope these information may be helpful.

O wow, thats amazing. You are true inspiration. You made me rethink my dietary choices. I am vegetarian but sometimes I feel I am not all the nutrition required for the body. I will make better choices now on.
