RE: Being Flagged for No Reason

in #flaggot8 years ago

I don't understand why noganoo behaves the way she or he does. This is where the reputation system fails us somewhat. I can appreciate how frustrating it is to be targeted by misguided judgement and spite. I'll try to upvote you when I catch your posts to help redress the balance somewhat. I don't use bots atm so bear with me :)

Sort:

I flag anyone who acts like a child and curses and my fellow Steemit users. Thanks for asking.

Noganoo -- I went back and looked at some of this flagging/comment history.
You seem to have started the "childish" behaviour as you call it, by flagging his article about Alex Jones for "stirring" the pot.
Stirring the pot should NEVER be a reason to flag an entire post.
Yes, titusfrost responded badly, I imagine because you attacked him in the first place (by the flag) in such an unjustified way. Both of your behaviours continued to worsen.
It may be justified to flag the individual comments where he is cursing you out and calling you names. But to flag entire posts, and to flag completely new unrelated posts is very uncalled for in my opinion.
You want titusfrost to grow up, but why not try growing up first yourself.

I talk about very controversial subjects here on Steemit myself, and I know that you usually vote for me (thanks). I know how badly it makes me feel when people have flagged my articles simply because they disagree with me questioning what they believe is "unquestionable", so they want to punish me by flagging me.

Please let titusfrost continue to post on Steemit free of your harassment.
If you don't harass him, I doubt that he will seek you out to harass you.

Exactly, I still have not flagged this kid. Check the Facts. He got upset because I called out Alex Jones. He addressed none of my criticisms, and started with ad hominem tactics to justify his bullshit.

Sorry but swearing is also not a reason for flagging, it's called freedom of expression. Can't handle tough words, don't come onto my blog.

Swearing directly at someone is different than using swearwords in your article -- in real life I walk away or hangup the phone, etc if someone starts swearing directly at me. Having said that, I do not think that would usually justify a flag on Steemit, and I have only flagged a comment from Kyriacos when he said that he wanted my children to die (because I don't vaccinate them) and a clear spammer who was putting the same spam post on my articles and others over and over. I let everything else slide .. no matter how much it rubs me the wrong way.

I didn't mean that noganoo should flag you for swearing at him, but I would understand that and not judge him harshly for it, however what he has been doing flagging each subsequent, unrelated article that you write is absolutely an ABUSE of what the flag is meant for.

Who are you to judge who is acting the child? Who are you to break the consensus we are trying to reach as a community about the appropriate use of flags? I don't necessarily think every post by titusfrost is great or factually accurate but he should be allowed to say what he likes without harrassement. If no-one on Steemit is interested, then naturally, he'll be ignored and will eventually go away. If steemians are too stupid or preoccupied or labouring under too much misinformation to decide that for themselves, this process will take a bit longer as better information reaches more people. Your combative, agressive tactics to assert your....from what I can see...arbitrary judgement are counterproductive. Just relax. Focus on nurturing what you like about Steemit and either ignore the rest or help to arrive at a compromise like the NSFW tag. Please. You could do so much to help Steemit rather than fight these pointless and self-destructive battles.

noganoo -- I just looked at Steemdb and see that you only 14 hours ago placed all these flags on a host of posts. Therefore there is time to undo them before the payouts kick in and they are undoable.
This has created too much drama.
Please do the right thing and remove your flags, so that we can all quit talking about this!
You have made your point already. You don't have to like him. You don't have to agree with him.

You have presumably read many of my posts that you have voted on ... so you know that I always stand up to the bully. Unfortunately this time you are the one being the bully. Hopefully you are just having a bad day and not thinking as reasonably as you normally do. We all can have our irrational moments -- we are only human.

Please undo the flags, mute titusfrost and walk away.

Nog, re-consider removing flag to @benjojo. Thank you.
