RE: Moving to hive

in #fightingwithabot7 years ago

For i know, this issue between bernie and haejin has been going on for a while now before christmas and it is not making things work well for steemit as planned if bernie is busy fighting haejin most of the time instead of doing the needful for steemitians inorder to help those that needs help, hope and voice to whatever situations they are, maybe those people would be a person by now. Bernie please help focus on those with good contents out there to be appreciated. Happy new year

While I somewhat agree with your statement, how many people are going to be enjoying the platform when there is nothing left in the rewards pool and people are once again contributing to a social network for "Free".

There are two sides I see to this argument. The one in which you stated to put his powers and rewards to "good" by upvoting "low value content"

Or you could call out all the other whales and witnesses on Steemit to do something about this. For one there could be a rule put into place that with ever post you make in a 24 hour period the rewards from upvotes are cut by 20% all the way to 0. I bet Haejin would start making less posts everyday and consolidating. The other whales on Steemit could also join in and stamp out this problem.

The fact that everyone is sitting on the sideline to me is the problem while one person gets rich for making posts that wouldn't gain him no more than a few dollars on any other platform.

As more people join the steem platform, more people buy steem. Thus the value of steem goes up. While Haejin may get a significant portion of the reward pool, he is also helping it get bigger. Exposure to the platform is good exposure no matter what.

This problem of reward pool abuse will not be fixed by whales, especially not bernie. It will be fixed by dan and ned, if they have the cojones to come up with and implement a solution.

Happy new year. I read a post the other day about downvoting here and it explains the difference between providing quality content to better the platform vs providing quality contributions to better the platform. This includes downvoting to balance the rewards pool. Just read the article if you haven't already and it might help you understand.
