Human nature is the greatest destroyer of everything. I am not surprised however by this. As Steemit grows, and continues to be a light in a sea of darkness, I believe the threats could get even worse. I think Dan knew this going in. We need to come together and protect each other from this because the only way to defeat things like this is being very tight knit, like an immune system.
Yup. Gotta keep tabs on the scammers/fraudsters/leechers/spammers/hackers; and all of the communities within Steemit need to stay in contact and exchange information on the accounts that are causing issues in their community/group/whatever.
A good example of why this is needed is the recent incident with @chiefmappster. He was/is a problem in various camps, yet we all sat back and stayed quiet hoping he would either change or go away on his own.
That did not happen, he just got worse and ended up on WhaleTank (where they raise funds) using our project's name and making false claims about our project in the broadcast and posts on Steemit and profiting off of our project and attempting to further profit by lying saying we shut down operations.
He had nothing to do with our project outside of playing horrible poker on our site and berating players at the table and in chat, yet was allowed on WhaleTank to raise funds using our name.
This should not happen, ever, and I take full responsibility (but would like some screening on shows like this in the future please) because I had EVERY intention on telling @officialfuzzy about our issues with this guy.
I got so far as to type everything out in a private message, but decided that perhaps it was just me, maybe I'm just being too judgemental about this guy, and decided to see how things went with him at fuzzy's chat.
Had I or any one of us spoken up sooner or spoken to each other sooner we could have booted this cancer from our projects/community a lot sooner. With the recent phishing attacks on Steemit users, the situation in steem.chat with bilal and everything I've mentioned above it would benefit all communities/projects operating in/around Steemit to stay in contact and report accounts that are causing problems.

Steem is led by corrupt actors enjoy that.

Couldn't agree more. The only way to fight corruption is by standing together against it. There are more of us than them, and surely we hold a bigger combined stake. I'm a tiny little ant soldier, but I'll bite and scratch at every bit of unscrupulous BS I see going on...
Thanks tuck. I am not perfect and i dont get the resources of the scheming whales on here so i must rely mote on community and i have to say i appreciate you.
I'm even smaller and I agree we must take back what we deserve.

Yes, and we have to continue to support the projects created by the truly kind-hearted and good people here on Steemit who give so much of their time and energy to help others both here and in the "real word". This is what Fuzzy envisioned with BeyondBitcoin and is currently still doing every week. We can't let the platform fail and bring us all down over systemic greed.
Yes we have to corner a part of steemit and fortify it. I think quality of service and posts is what we have to fight for.

I think humans are the only animal that can overcome fear and the resulting selfishness.
If anything is a great destroyer it is our animal nature based in fear. Our human nature is the way out of this mess, if we choose to live it...

That is the question. If big whales and even ned ALL have a history of attacking me...after all ive done, is it really a light in the darkness? Or is it a mirage in dangerous desert where you go to be milked of your value until death?
Human nature is a powerful destroyer...but also equally powerful as creator. We are meant to create and not destroy. In my mind it is a choice and the "high up" whales by whom he is hired choose to totally exemplify this aspect of humanity to which you so perfectly refer...
fuzzyvest your post provided 0 evidence of anything other than you received some type of a hacking threat. If you know who is going to hack you can you please back up your accusations.
This at this point is just FUD, Self-Promotion and Demonizing "whales". Can you please tell us exactly what it is you are trying to say, or stop spreading fud.
Anyone with any rational skills will see this for meaningless drama, and if it didn't impact my investment I wouldn't care.
Obviously, I have no control over what you say, but I am a bit beyond annoyed that you feel it is okay for a community leader to spread fud with no facts.
