It's going to be a big week for EOS
So after a year, where every single day 2,000,000 EOS tokens have been released and absorbed into the community at an increasing price (that's right, price highs of over USD $20 have occurred in the ICO, when two million new tokens were being released each and every day) the ICO is finally ending June 2. The ERC20 Ethereum-based tokens will be frozen and swapped for the real thing, and the EOS blockchain will be born. For a countdown and other useful info, check out: https://eoscountdown.com
Important - register your tokens! Check out how to here:
What's going to happen?
There will probably be a bit of confusion at first. The EOS Rad.io guys are going to host a party on you tube, so if you want to check in to see what the latest is, that's probably the place. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0fwWI2RBBtEIYIP6fH68XQ
There will also be a ton of airdrops happening on launch day and after. And while most of these will probably not be worth much for a while - if ever, some may shine. Remember that this is the birth of a new decentralised operating system with all the benefits of blockchain - but with all the functionality of 'regular' programming languages.
And no-one knows where the price will end up either.
Enjoy your week, and the anticipation. But remember the real world too!
Fun times!

Is EOS like steemit? Is it another platform for users posting content, like here? Thanks!
No, EOS is so much more. But it does have the power to support many social media platforms where users can be rewarded for posting content. Steemit was build by the same person who is in charge of building the EOS.io software ,so there will be many similarities. But that is just one of the very many things EOS will be used for.
Thanks for your answer. So for someone joining EOS now, what would one do there? Or at this point is it mainly people who are creating social media platforms that are doing things there? Thanks!
One of its main uses is for developers to create apps that will be used on the platform without any fees like gas. Holding the EOS tokens will give you a % of the bandwidth and computational power needed to run these apps on the blockchain. Users of EOS based apps will be able to do so without paying transaction fees for everything they do, just like we're doing on steemit.
I'll surely look into it once it gets to the point when some of those apps are up and running and are usable. Thanks!
@ponts is right - there is incredible scope for EOS to expand and build and become an enabler of fantastic new Apps (or strictly speaking DApps - decentralised applications). These new Apps will have all the benefits of being built on a blockchain, but most users won't have to even notice or care. But like with STEEM, it will enable payments, create an incontestable record of truth, and (unlike with Ethereum etc) as long as the user has some EOS in their account it will all be free.
Thanks. I will keep an eye open for when the first apps roll out that we can use for content posting there.
I haven't much experience with cryptocurrencies, but it looks to me that soon, either all crypto is going to get some real solid ground under it and soar, or there'll be a huge, concerted push for it to be stigmatized as a money laundering scheme, and then it'll fall flat for the last time.
Eos and tron are behaving like players from a month
sorry girls and guys but not with me. This EOS ruined my holiday plan.I lost with EOS over 2000€ in 2 weeks. Ive tried to hodl it but Marge killed me. I didn t trust it anymore.
Hope it works out okay for you. I have no doubt (personally) that it will rebound. But I am no financial advisor.
I hope for all Investors that there dreams comes true. I know how it is to fall and its really bad. You have all my best wishes.
thank you for sharing this guide
wow I did not know about the 2,000,000/day number, simply stopping that supply will be hugely supportive of price.
I really do not like using MEW especially with Meta Mask, but look like I have to?
No way do I feel safe about sending EOS through that interface.
Guess I could try sending a couple back and fourth first..
Exodus, Binance and Bitfinex all claim that they will support the change, yet that is not verified by the block one website - that is so unprofessional, how hard would it be to upgrade that page? Pretty sure non of these parties is lying, they just have failed to reach clear consensus on the issue?
Great post, thanks
Yep yep yep, super exciting times. EOS is going to be a great success.
