**THE NARCICYST ** a.k.a "Yassin Al Salman"

Born in Dubai to parents from Basra, Iraq, hip-hop artist Yassin Al Salman was raised between the United Arab Emirates and Canada.

As an MC he goes by the name "The Narcicyst" and has performed with the likes of Public Enemy, Talib Kweli and Kanye West. His work focuses on the experiences of Arabs in North America, and with album titles such as "Stuck Between Iraq and A Hard Place" and "Fear of an Arab Planet," Al Salman is making a name for himself in the world of Arab hip-hop.

Now 29 years old, Al Salman's family immigrated to Canada in 1993, where he was first introduced to hip-hop artists like WuTang Clan and NWA.

Along the way, Narcy earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies and political science as well as a master's in media studies. As part of his thesis, he recorded an album titled "Fear of an Arab Planet" with a group of Arab-American MCs.

In addition to maintaining a regular performance and speaking schedule, Alsalman also co-teaches a course titled "Hip Hop: Past / Present / Future" at Concordia University in Montreal. He uses hip-hop as a way to explore a range of issues, including race, colonialism, ghettos, religion, the history of art and personal identity.

ذي نارسيسيست a.k.a "ياسين آل سلمان"

ولد في دبي لأبوين من البصرة، العراق، نشأ الفنان الهيب هوب ياسين السلمان بين الإمارات العربية المتحدة وكنداكما ماك يذهب باسم "نارسيسيست" ؟؟ وأداء مع أمثال العدو العام، طالب كويلي وكاني ويست. ويركز عمله على تجارب العرب في أمريكا الشمالية، ومع عناوين الألبوم مثل "عالقة بين العراق ومكان الصعب"؟ و "الخوف من كوكب عربي"، ؟؟ سلمان يصنع اسما لنفسه في عالم الهيب هوب العربي.

الآن 29 عاما، هاجر عائلة السلمان إلى كندا في عام 1993، حيث قدم لأول مرة للفنانين الهيب هوب مثل وتانغ عشيرة و نوا.

على طول الطريق، حصل نارسي على درجة البكالوريوس في دراسات الاتصال والعلوم السياسية وكذلك الماجستير في الدراسات الإعلامية. كجزء من أطروحته، سجل ألبوما بعنوان "الخوف من كوكب عربي" مع مجموعة من الدول العربية الأمريكية الأمريكية.

بالإضافة إلى الحفاظ على أداء منتظم وتحدث الجدول الزمني، كما يشارك السلمان في دورة بعنوان "الهيب هوب: الماضي / الحاضر / المستقبل" ؟؟ في جامعة كونكورديا في مونتريال. وهو يستخدم الهيب هوب كوسيلة لاستكشاف مجموعة من القضايا، بما في ذلك العرق، الاستعمار، غيتوس، الدين، تاريخ الفن والهوية الشخصية.
