Curie Weekly Update (25th December to 31st December 2017)

in #curation7 years ago (edited)

  • In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on this community project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.

  • For those new to Curie, please follow @curie, and join us in #curie on Steemit.chat.

  • Follow @curie's votes to support the authors. Please consider following our trail and voting for curated authors. If you are a SteemAuto user, @curie is an available trail to follow.

  • Wishing everyone a happy new year! 2017 marks Curie's first full year of operations, and 17th month in total.

Witness Update

A sincere thank you to all 2,700 Steemians voting for @curie as witness. Thanks to your support, Curie is now a top 20 witness, and the only community witness on the list - Curie curators vote democratically on witness (and all other) decisions. Needless to say, the account @curie is owned by the Curie community, and every penny earned from witness rewards will be given back to the curation community.

The witness nodes have been upgraded for greater redundancy. Furthermore, we are in the process of setting up a full RPC node for the Steem network. The existing seed node at seed.curiesteem.com:2001 will remain online and complement the full node.

The increase in funding will lead to further initiatives, starting with Curie now being able to reward Steem's most engaged and contributive authors, irrespective of Reputation. This expansion was announced last week. Curator recommendations have been opened up further - we hope to see more of the finest curators on Steem submit exceptional content to Curie. If you're interested, please join #curie on Steemit.chat for more details.

Curie will also continue supporting development of apps for the curation community, such as Steem Search, developed and consulted by Curie curators.

We hope the Steem community will continue supporting Curie. Any feedback is always welcome! To vote for @curie, please visit the Vote for Witnesses page and click on the upvote icon next to @curie. (Currently at #14)

For further queries about Curie's witness operations, feel free to contact @locikll or @geekgirl on Steemit.chat.

Curators

The Top Curators list will dynamically change every other week depending on performance. Anybody will be able to rise up the ranks with consistent, quality curation. Inconsistent, low-quality curation will result in dropping out of Top curators list(or regular curation, if under-performance continues). Exceptional long-term top curators transition to direct curation.

This week, we have upvoted 88 posts submitted by curators in http://curiesteem.com, with 1,320 STEEM to be paid out to curators.

Happy new year @curie. Today is my birthday i don't mind if u follow and upvote my post @iloegbunamagnes

Trying to find out how to contribute content for review via @curie, but still can't figure out how to submit an article to your system. Feel like we wrote a great article, but no one is really FINDING it. Want some new compelling nuggets of evidence on who Satoshi Nakamoto might be?

Can you tell us how to get our post read by your curator-thing?

tried one of the links u provided, and it directed us to some site that demanded a login from other social media accounts (google, fb, etc...). that seems terribly unsafe, don't like giving that info out. seems VERY uncrypo-like, no?

great analysis,i like this post
