Crypto for beginners
As a newbie to the crypto world....had a friend who bought ether early on and at 50c in ICO and has just bought his first £40K BMW....not my first choice but a nice car none the same.....having now spent a few quid here and there on ICO's and been impressed with the scope and detail of some and initially thought every idea was a knock it out of the park token.....and then realising that some are just a pipe dream...I have come to the conclusion that if you are going to invest here are my rules of engagement -
- do you like the idea / plan of what the ICO is proposing?
- does it have a real world use, can you see it being used by a decent proportion of people in the short, medium and long term?
- is it going to make a difference to the the averaage Joe's life, will I help somebody working in Dubai send money home to Myanmar without being ripped of by our wonderful banking exchanage system?
- am I going to help solve a problem?
- can i have an impact on changing the self centered banking/corporate/globalised/greed ridden corporate system
- am I going to sleep well tonight
Is crypto just another investment strategy? Should I buy gold instead? Should I buy shares in the next facebook.....is that what I really want? Possibly yes because we all have bills to pay. But what do I really want from the crypto world....universal acceptance, borderless transactions, whether it be financial or by communication.
All I read about on crypto, reddit, coins news is about profit and how good it is to make some fiat / value. Can we please remember the what and why the decentralised world came about. It was an answer to the current systems problems, it is a classless, countryless, unregulated ecosystem that as long as you have a computer and a cent you can start something. Lets not forget that, lets not let the 'system' bring the crypto world under the umbrella of the SEC and government control where the many who have the power and the few who have nothing, just have to get in line.

Be very cautious of ICO's.
There are so many con-coins out there now that you have to do your research.
sorry I forgot to say, only invest in ICO's where you have read and understood the whitepaper and can track the dev team. But sometines take a punt cause you believe in it....a loss is easier to accept because you did it for the right reasons.
