in #croatia6 years ago
  1. of May is non working day and my family and I decided to take a trip to the place not very know and not a touristic attraction only 50 km away from Zagreb were we live.
The name of the place is Ozalj !

Ozalj is a small town situated at the junction where the Kupa River flows from the hills into the plains, was founded between wooded hills and the emerald river.

The trip with the car took only 40 min but unfortunately the train connection is not available any more.
I think it could be more adventurous to came here with the train.
But old railway is still here.

After 15 minutes walk we arrived to the entrance of old town. First thing we noticed is the old sign of the famous family which lived here.
Still do not know the connection with the dragons but red and white squares are the recognizable for Croatia even today- Especially if you watched last soccer world cup. (our national team was second and had the t-shirts with red and white squares.

The Old Town is entered via a wooden bridge which was movable until 1821.DSC02010.JPG

The fortress is under reconstruction right now but we managed to take some photos for memory and family album :)

After this trip I will just say that I slept like a baby and I am sure that we will try to make family trips every free weekend because we are lucky to live in such a beautiful country - CROATIA!

Very nice pictures my man. When I look at this I'm almost ashamed to say I've only been in Croatia once, back in 1989.

You are more than invited to visit again + it would be really nice to meet you in live!
