RE: Steemit Challenge - VeggieVotes (fourth idea) & The Steemit Passport (fifth, last idea)

To increase applicability, I want to focus exclusively on herbs and veggies that can be grown indoors (allowing better control over temperature, etc.), are commonly available, and easy to grow. We can't include outdoor planting unless everyone could freely choose from a list of plants that survive in their climate. That’s too complicated for Veggie 101, though. Maybe another time, for a different occasion.

I love the idea of collaborating, but I live in a very expensive part of the world, and while my Steemit writing isn’t my main income (for obvious reasons), I’d still like it to help me save some money, more than, let's say, spending that time exclusively foraging in the forest. Teaming up means less income (unless it’s not the only selected idea—then collaborating on a second one is great for me).

So, we have:

  1. Proof of Taste
  2. Veggie Votes
  3. The Steemit Passport
  4. Steem Street Hunt
  5. Tokenized Talk

I believe the most participation would get Proof of Taste (cooking is easy, it's the skill everyone is willing to develop, we have proves from the past it works), Steem Street Hunt (old Steemians like the idea, new will choose to participate as it's more of the fun than typical homework based tasks, and all you need is a camera in your phone), and Tokenized Talk (some steemians already started to participate, and tag me, even though it didn't start yet).

What would be the most educative? Definitely VeggieVotes. That challenge leaves Steemians with the knowledge, and planted veggies that helps to lower the costs of living in a long term (good for those who are in a fragile economical situation).

What would be the most of fun for me? I'd say the most difficult would be Tokenized Talk - I expect plenty of comments and a lot of time to verify all of them. Steem Street Hunt, Proof of Taste and Veggie Votes are my three favorites to create content and check the entries.

Hello papi.mati, glad you response on steemcurator01's proposal.

Just want to clarify...

In your outdoor planting, can you specify what are this outdoor vegetables you want to point out?

Because in the Philippines, there are plenty of outdoor vegetables and herbs which do not need some proper care, which you just put it in the soil and then it let grow and with less hassle. Like for examples, the malabar spinach, the basil or the most popular outdoor vegetables, this moringa.

none of that will work globally. When the summer is in southern hemisphere, in northern we have winter, so simultaneously we cannot request planting the same thing from everyone. Besides that we all have different soil in our gardens (more of that - many of us live in the big cities and do not have any garden at all), and, most importantly, we are in different climate zones. I'm in Norway, Koppen Climate Zone Dfc (subarctic), or USDA Zone 5b
You, in Philippines have tropical zone (one of As', like AF, AW etc), or in USDA Zone 11 to 13. It's extremely different environment and not the same things can be planted in both of the places.

Okay got it amigo, so you mean you just only focussing on indoor gardening, for the reason of weather differences and limited space.

But most likely SEA countries like Philippines are practicing in outdoor gardening, so it is really a conflict.

...and they still will be physically able to plant something at home or, if they want to, they can plant directly in the soil.
I doubt people in Manila or Cebu have gardens to practice outdoor gardening, so I believe your statement may be correct only while considering rural areas of SEA.

Yes exactly, majority in the Philippines doing outdoor planting maybe there are some indoors but it is just only few.

Anyway, a success on your proposal's amigo if ever what it is choosen.

Good day!
