Steemit Challenge - VeggieVotes (fourth idea) & The Steemit Passport (fifth, last idea)
Last two ideas from papi.mati
If my previous suggestions of Steem Street Hunt, Tokenized Talk, and Proof of Taste are hitting a bit too far from the general concept of Challenges, I do have for you two more ideas that may be slightly more similar to entries from previous seasons, yet still with some original touch.

VeggieVotes

I really love gardening and permaculture. I wrote many educative posts on that topic. I was thinking about using my knowledge and passion to teach Steemians something simple & universal during the next Challenge season. I didn’t want it to be just theory. Practical experiences are more memorable and do require actual work that cannot be done by any bot, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, or Alexa.
I had to keep in mind that we all come from very different climates and hemispheres (if in Europe summer is getting closer each day, in Argentina winter is coming). Many Steemians have less money and won’t buy tools just to write a few posts. Besides that, even if some of us live close to nature, many others are stuck in big cities.
The solution for all these problems is a very, very simple indoor garden (beginner level, for those who’ve never thought about growing veggies). The conditions are easier to control, so I could suggest universal ideas that will work in Colombia, Germany, and Nigeria at the same time.
We could start by planting herbs and talking about how to care for them over the next few weeks. Homework would require planting seeds and documenting it, plus making a care schedule.
Later, we could learn how to get seeds from supermarket veggies, which ones are worth planting, and which aren’t. We could plant veggies that can survive their whole life in a plant pot (from seeds in veggies or bags). We could also grow sprouts! Again, the homework post would mix practical gardening photos with a written care plan until harvest.
Every lesson is made for someone who has never worked in a garden. Skill level: 0. If this concept is approved, we can make it harder next time with more challenging plants.
I believe the concept is cool, AI-proof, and—even if it needs basic purchases (seeds, maybe soil)—it’s a way to grow some food at home and save money.

The Steemit Passport
The whole concept of Steemit Challenge is to make sure users publish AI-free content. What if we reversed it and found a way to use AI in a good way? I suggest a challenge where we use the best AI tools to create graphics, videos, and text for a Steemit promo campaign.
- Lesson 1: Create graphics and a holistic visual concept for Instagram.
- Lesson 2: Make interactive Steemit posts with buttons that redirect to key articles for newcomers.
- Lesson 3: Design posters and infographics for Facebook.
- Lesson 4: Film TikTok-style promo videos with links to your posts.
- Lessons 5 & 6: Make longer YouTube tutorials.
We’ll learn to use AI tools for help, but they can’t do all the work. You’ll still need your brain—no worries about missing “Proof-of-Brain” input!

@papi.mati
A couple more interesting ideas.
The VeggieVotes Challenge could possibly benefit from a bit of globalization by teaming up with a keen gardening Steemian in maybe SE Asia (Indonesia, Philippines) to ensure widest applicability and accessibility.
Of your five ideas which would you find most interesting to do?
And which do you think would get most participation?
To increase applicability, I want to focus exclusively on herbs and veggies that can be grown indoors (allowing better control over temperature, etc.), are commonly available, and easy to grow. We can't include outdoor planting unless everyone could freely choose from a list of plants that survive in their climate. That’s too complicated for Veggie 101, though. Maybe another time, for a different occasion.
I love the idea of collaborating, but I live in a very expensive part of the world, and while my Steemit writing isn’t my main income (for obvious reasons), I’d still like it to help me save some money, more than, let's say, spending that time exclusively foraging in the forest. Teaming up means less income (unless it’s not the only selected idea—then collaborating on a second one is great for me).
So, we have:
I believe the most participation would get Proof of Taste (cooking is easy, it's the skill everyone is willing to develop, we have proves from the past it works), Steem Street Hunt (old Steemians like the idea, new will choose to participate as it's more of the fun than typical homework based tasks, and all you need is a camera in your phone), and Tokenized Talk (some steemians already started to participate, and tag me, even though it didn't start yet).
What would be the most educative? Definitely VeggieVotes. That challenge leaves Steemians with the knowledge, and planted veggies that helps to lower the costs of living in a long term (good for those who are in a fragile economical situation).
What would be the most of fun for me? I'd say the most difficult would be Tokenized Talk - I expect plenty of comments and a lot of time to verify all of them. Steem Street Hunt, Proof of Taste and Veggie Votes are my three favorites to create content and check the entries.
Hello papi.mati, glad you response on steemcurator01's proposal.
Just want to clarify...
In your outdoor planting, can you specify what are this outdoor vegetables you want to point out?
Because in the Philippines, there are plenty of outdoor vegetables and herbs which do not need some proper care, which you just put it in the soil and then it let grow and with less hassle. Like for examples, the malabar spinach, the basil or the most popular outdoor vegetables, this moringa.
none of that will work globally. When the summer is in southern hemisphere, in northern we have winter, so simultaneously we cannot request planting the same thing from everyone. Besides that we all have different soil in our gardens (more of that - many of us live in the big cities and do not have any garden at all), and, most importantly, we are in different climate zones. I'm in Norway, Koppen Climate Zone Dfc (subarctic), or USDA Zone 5b
You, in Philippines have tropical zone (one of As', like AF, AW etc), or in USDA Zone 11 to 13. It's extremely different environment and not the same things can be planted in both of the places.
Okay got it amigo, so you mean you just only focussing on indoor gardening, for the reason of weather differences and limited space.
But most likely SEA countries like Philippines are practicing in outdoor gardening, so it is really a conflict.
...and they still will be physically able to plant something at home or, if they want to, they can plant directly in the soil.
I doubt people in Manila or Cebu have gardens to practice outdoor gardening, so I believe your statement may be correct only while considering rural areas of SEA.
Yes exactly, majority in the Philippines doing outdoor planting maybe there are some indoors but it is just only few.
Anyway, a success on your proposal's amigo if ever what it is choosen.
Good day!
Just by chance the next proposal in the Steem Challenge list was from @natz04 in the Philippines. It looks like he enjoys growing vegetables...
Hello steemcurator01,
Yes you are right, gardening was really my hobby.
In fact if I had a huge and wide piece of land, maybe I'll now used it for vegetable gardening business.
Hopefully, I acquired it soon!
Btw, thanks for mentioning hopefully papi.mati will works on your proposal..
Good day!
