RE: Sir Bernie Of The Butthurt Still Firing Shots In The #Butthurtwars
As you know, your manner of comportment ... draws fire. You're brash, in-your-face and ever-confrontational. You will NEVER win (even last place) in a Personality Contest.
That said, you are often the ONLY Whale willing to do anything to push back against the endemic abuses that are crippling the blockchain ... a subject about which, I would wager, I am unequaled in terms of word-count. As a result, I have defended your "unorthodox actions" on a number of occasions when it was unpopular to do so.
But, mate ... sometimes you go too far ... and your recent pissing match with Cryptogee is one of those times. Cryptogee is a highly respected member of Steemit. He habitually creates excellent quality content and his insights are habitually intelligent, thought-provoking and well-articulated. Irrespective of what triggered this brawl, it needs to end.
@cryptogee, that goes for you too. Enough with the Diatribe to Dictators stuff. You've made your point and what would further ranting and raving accomplish?
Both of you ... just drop it.
STEEM is currently trading at $0.18 and has dropped to 82nd in terms of market cap. The blockchain's once-vaunted "Core of 50,000 Active Users" is down to 8,000. These ego-driven free-for-alls serve no purpose other than to alienate more people.
At 51, I expect I'm the oldest of the three of us, and frankly fellas, it shows. Gray hair and gravitas.
I would request that neither of you reply to this comment. Forgo the opportunity to get in the last word. Just stop swinging, walk in the other direction ... and if someone says something, blame it on me.

Hi @quillfire
Interesting comment.
The problem I have with your comment is that you seem to ignore the fact that the @ngc / @berniesanders group of accounts is actually thousands of accounts by his own admission. He is the largest producer of shit posts, spam and self voting on the blockchain. He also likes to make death threats. He should be in jail.
The remedy is to stand firm with @cryptogee and everyone else he attacks and ensure he is forcibly removed from holding steem power. We need to get rid of this psychopath
@joe.public,
Disclaimer: Cryptogee is one of my best and oldest friends on Steemit. Hence, I am not an impartial obsever. Such friendship, however, does not cripple the functioning of my pre-frontal cortex. To wit:
Firstly, given what you know about the present realities of Steemit, what would you estimate the chances that @cryptogee's railing against @bernie will compel Bernie to "surrender?" Bernie is a Whale, Cryptogee is not. That disparity has consequences, one we might call, "Realpolitik."
Secondly, I have written countless posts, comments and replies about how to reform Steemit so as to, amongst other things, prevent just these kinds of conflicts. None have been considered let alone implemented. Why not?
It's not because of Bernie being a prick. It's because the preponderance of Whales and Witnesses won't implement any reform that restrains their ability to game the system.
I am not being a Bernie-apologist ... his (and other whales') policy of auto-downvoting the comments of "friends of enemies," for example, is indefensible. It is, definitionally, a gross abuse of power. Indeed, it was just such shenanigans that made a mess of the comments section of my 18-year-old daughter's first Steemit post (she had originally planned to use her account to post articles about her 8+ years of Alzheimer's Research (for which she has recently received USD $70,000 in scholarships). On that occasion, I would have liked to put Bernie's head through a wall.
Zooming out to look at the bigger picture though, the reality is that because Bernie is crass in his comportment (style), he takes a lot of shit for challenging our more polished, but nevertheless crooked-to-the-core, Whales and Witnesses (substance).
And, the reality is that, like me, as Bernie railed against the abuses ... he largely railed alone as the overwhelming majority of like-minded Steemians were happy to remain silent while letting him take all the slings and arrows of life's outrageous fortune. From personal experience, it makes one bitter. And that bitterness can cause one to become unhinged from time to time. Personally, I have had to take prolonged absences from the blockchain on two occasions because my level of disgust was becoming pathological. Perhaps if I'd possessed a pile of SP, like Bernie, my response to the endemic corruption would have been different.
Back to the present: Irrespective of all else, Bernie's and Cryptogee's on-going grudge match inarguably serves no purpose for either ... and war fought absent a purpose is the province of fools.

Dear @quillfire : ) I really enjoyed reading your reply.
I am not in favor of your call for a retreat in the name of expediency. I have no respect for that attitude, it is what is fucking this world up. Going along to get along.
Your daughters experience is regrettable along with so many other peoples experiences her.e This platform is controlled by people with very limited imaginations. Unfortunately they do not have clue about anything beyond their own limited and immediate self interest. They are unaware, completely clueless about how this platform could be used to create a better world for everyone including themselves. They imagine that the price will recover if they ignore what is going on and keep doing what they are doing.
What we need is people who have the balls to do what is right. Not what is expedient.
I think this place is worth fighting for. We only get flags. Nobody believes that the reputation score here is an accurate reflection of their character! So what if we don't get a few minuscule rewards? we did not have them anyway!
The way things stand right now, you would need to be completely delusional to invest cash into Steem. Lets try to turn this thing around and get rid of the cancer.
@joe.public,
I agree, wholeheartedly, with everything you just said. To be accurate, I'm not advocating "retreat." Indeed, I think I could rightly claim to having done more than my fair share to stir up a rebellion.
That said, I'm an old soldier and there is such a thing as beating a dead horse. Falling back and regrouping is NOT retreating ... it is a means of "living to fight another day." Pyrrhic victories are so-called because they are losses in all but name.
Quill
Thanks for your thoughtful reply @quillfire
Its funny that you bring up pyrrhic victory, because it seems that is exactly what the minions and followers of team @ngc / @berniesanders will reap. I suspect that is the outcome their outspoken leader is looking for.
