First day at Wework Seoul staion

위워크 이용 첫날. 1일부터지만 일요일이어서 건너뛰고 월요일에 출근했다. 장마 때문에 출근하기 싫어질까 봐 걱정했는데(첫날부터..?) 내가 나올 때쯤엔 비가 그쳤다. 위워크 지점은 몇 번의 투어를 거쳐 최종 서울역으로 결정하고 계약했다. 사실, 지리로 보나 시설로 보나 애초에 머릿속에 서울역 지점을 찍어두고 있었지만 그래도 이곳저곳 구경해보고 싶었다. 을지로 점도 좋았지만 버스로 가기에 막히는 부분이 있고 서울역지점은 생긴지 얼마 안 되어서 적당히 한산한 점이 마음에 들었다. 사람이 많은 곳을 좋아하면서도 일할 때는 그래도 너무 많은 것보다는 한산한 곳이 나을 것 같아서. 무엇보다 서울스퀘어다 보니 층하나의 넓이가 어마 무시하고 새 시설이라 아주아주 마음에 들었다. 지리상으로는 버스로 서울역이 30여 분, 여의도는 훨씬 빨리 도착했지만 블로그에서 불친절하다는 글을 보고 여의도점 투어는 가지 않았다. 하지만 다른 지점들도 위워크 투어를 도와주시는 분들이 대체적으로 좀 친절하다는 느낌은 아니었다ㅠㅠ... 잡지를 보고 무작정 활발하면서도 쿨한 오픈마인드로 헬로우 데어!? 하고 하이파이브를 칠 것 같은 매니저 캐리(내 머릿속 위워크 매니저)를 상상한 내 잘못인 것 같기도 하다 ㅋㅋㅋ... 따지고 보면 불친절하다기 보다 하루에도 몇 번씩 같은 투어를 진행해야 하는 입장에서는 조금 사무적으로 대할 수밖에 없지 않겠나 하고 생각하니 이해가 가더라. 아니면 그냥 분위기에 내가 졸은 거지 뭐... 어쨌든 서울역 위워크는 내 마음에 쏙 들었다. 한 달분 통으로 계약이 되기 때문에 7월 1일 이후에 시작하게 되면 7월분 + 8월분이 자동 결제가 된다. 나는 호주 가기 전 한 달만 이용할 생각이었기 때문에 어쩔 수 없이 7월 1일에 맞춰 등록하게 되었다.

First day over. My period starts on 1st of July but I skipped cause it's Sunday. I was worried if rain make me lazy to kick off the bed. Fortunately it stopped raining when I came out to work. After visiting few branches, I decided to use Seoul Station branch. I already considered Seoul Station branch for its location and facilities are the best for me. However I just wanted see different Wework branches. I liked Euljiro Branch though but traffic was too heavy around Euljiro and Seoul Station Branch is much newer than Euljiro's.(less people). I love where crowded by many people but not while working. Wework Seoul Station Branch is located in Seoul Square Building which is quite huge and nearly built. Facilities and other environments are so lovely. From my home, the nearest one is Yeouido Branch, not Seoul Station's, but I read some bad reviews that some managers of the branch is not kind. To be honest, I was imagining of active and outgoing person would be Wework manager but everybody I met was quite silent and businesslike. I admit, I had a fantasy. True, they are not unkind, they should be businesslike if they handle every members and Wework visitors. By the way Wework Seoul Station was my best and final option. Contracting plans are made every month. Since I'm leaving abroad next month, I decided to use only a month starting from 1st of July.

서울 스퀘어 1층에 있는 위워크 전용 데스크에서 키카드를 받고 올라와 한 번 더 천천히 지점을 구경했다. 시설은 진짜 좋다... 유명한 키친은 말할 것도 없고 화장실이며 샤워실이며... 노래방도 있다던데 어디 있는 거지.

새 지점이라 그런지 고정석 사무실들은 많이 비어있었다. 고정석 사무기구들은 전부 통일되어 있어서 조금 삭막한 기분이 들기도 했다. 사무실을 아기자기 꾸미고 싶어 하는 사장님들은 조금 망설일지도 모르겠다. 원하는 가구로 변경도 되는 걸까. 뭐 나는 사용할 일이 없으니 패스하쟈...

위워크 메인 층은 13층이지만 실수로 14층에 와버렸다. 이따 내려가야지 하고 커피를 한 잔 받아와 자리를 잡고 앉았다. 키친에는 간간이 이벤트로 간식도 나오는 것 같았다. 오늘은 서울시 어르신 지원센터와 연결된 빵집에서 만든 간식이 놓여있어서 냉큼 집어왔다.

At the Wework exclusive desk on 1st floor of Seoul Square Building, I got my entrance key card, and I looked around again slowly everywhere. Facilities were at the best condition. Toiltes, shower rooms, and say nothing of kitchen. Where is Karaoke anyway?

Since it's opened recently, dedicated office space were still vacant. Furnitures of dedicated office were all unified, I felt it is quite stark. Those who to decorate their office wouldn't ike that space. I don't know if we can freely change the design and arrangement of the space. It's none of my business anyway.

Main floor is 13th but I come to 14th by mistake. Thinking to go down floor later. I just took a sit on 14th floor. It seems like there is some snack event at the kitchen sometimes. Today, Seoul Elderly support center had brought some breads so I took one of them.

자리를 잡고 처음으로 한 일은 위워크 어플을 다운받는 일이었다. 기대했던 서비스 중 하나였기 때문에 도키도키...로그인을 하고 앞으로 어떤 행사가 진행되는지 이벤트부터 체크했다. 오리엔테이션이랑 브랜드 마케팅 관련 행사가 있길래 바로 신청했다. 이것저것 막 누르다가 나중에 다 까먹는 거 아닌가 모르겠다. 어플 메인은 기본적으로 여느 sns처럼 멤버들의 피드가 뜬다. 피드 내용은 대체로 구인이 가장 많은 것 같긴한데 종종 자신의 일상 sns처럼 쓰는 사람들의 글, 분실물을 습득하고 주인을 찾는 글, 회사 홍보 글, 샐러드 정모 같은 점심 모임 등 다양한 글이 있어서 이래저래 재미있다. 관심 있는 구인광고도 봤다. 나중에 꼭 활용해봤으면 좋겠다. 공간 예약이나 건의사항도 전부 어플로 할 수 있어서 나름 편리하게 되어있는 것 같다.

호기심에 커피도 마셔보고 과일수도 마셔보고 두유도 마셔보고 이것저것 마시고 둘러보고 놀고... 첫날은 나처럼 모두가 그러겠거니 하고... 처음에 앉은 자리는 칸막이가 있는 자리였다. 프라이버시가 보장되는 느낌을 주고 공간도 넓다. 다른 곳들을 이용해보지 않아서 얼마나 붐비는지 잘 모르지만 자리들이 다 여유롭게 있어서 다시 한 번 서울역 지점을 선택하길 잘했다는 생각이 든다.

The first think I did was downloading Wework app. I was expecting this moment very much! I applied for orientation and an event about brand marketing. I'm afraid if I apply this and that and forget to attend. Main of app has feed of members like any other SNS. Most of the feeds are about recruitment I guess. But some are about lost and found, daily life, advertisement of company, and finding people to eat lunch together etc... I've found and interesting job recruitment. I'll use it in the future. Reservation and recruitment are all available in the app. What a convenient!

I tried coffee, fruit water and soy milk, then I went everywhere and played everything. Everyone who is first to Wework would like me. The first place I sat was a desk with partition panel. I felt my privacy was guaranteed, and the space was wide enough. I think Seoul Station Branch is a good choice, plenty of vacant, not crowed.

평소에도 카페에 가면 두~세 시간 집중력이 맥시멈이다. (그 시간 중에서도 일하는 집중력은...) 다른 카페로 옮기거나 배가 고파져서 집에 오기 마련인데 이곳은 마음껏 자리를 옮겨도 되고 배고프면 밥을 먹고 오거나 위워크 안에서 먹어도 되니 정말 편했다. 창가 자리에 앉아서 쉬기도 하고 자리도 옮겨가며 일하다 7시쯤 넘어서 13층으로 내려왔다. 위층엔 맥주가 카스밖에 없었는데 13층에는 제주에일, 대동강, 모카 스타우트 등 평소에 비싸게 사 먹었던 맥주가 탭으로 제공되고 있었다. 얼마나 마시겠느냐마는, 이런 고퀄의 맥주가 항시 비치되어 있다는 사실 자체만으로도 삶의 행복이 높아지는 기분이다.

Usually I only can concentrate for couple of hour to work in the cafe. I used to move to another cafe or come back home feeling hungry. But in Wework office, I can eat anything here and changing seat. I took rest on the window seat and came down to 13th floor. Upper floor only has Korean domestic beer, but Main floor has various premium beers like Jeju Ale, Mocha Stout, and Daedonggang Beer. I've got beers and coffee, What else is happiness in the life?

7시쯤 지나 어둑어둑한 분위기의 위워크도 꽤 마음에 들었다. 그래도 일을 하러 온 거라 생각하니 7~8시쯤엔 집에 가고 싶어지더라. 대동강 맥주 한잔하고 만족스러운 마음으로 집에 돌아왔다. 화장실, 샤워실, 키친 등 관리가 잘 되어있는 것이 정말 신경 안 쓰고 일만 할 수 있는 환경이란 생각이 들었고 일의 질도 높아질 것 같았다. 무엇을 소유하거나 꾸미는 것에 대해 딱히 흥미가 없고 소질도 없는 나 같은 사람들한텐 서비스의 만물화, 공유 서비스 등이 정말 잘 맞는 것 같다.

프리랜서로 일을 하다 보니 새벽에 자고 낮 12시, 1시에 일어나는 경우가 많은데 생활 사이클도 좀 더 일찍 시작하게 될 것 같아서 기대된다.

위워크에서 열심히 원화 채굴해야지.

After 7 O'clock in the evening, as it got dark, the atmosphere became quite nice. Event though I love this place, office is an office. After having a glass of Daedonggang Beer, I came back home. Well mannged facilities and good environment, I only can focus on my work. Feeling like quality of my work getting higher. For those who don't have interest on decorating their own place like me, sharing office service would be the best choice.

Since I'm a freelancer, I have a free schedule to work. I used to work in the night and wake up late till the noon. I'm expecting to change my life pattern thanks to Wework.

Now I'm mining KRW in Wework!
