SLC26-W3 // "Savory Appetizers"
Thank you @suboohi for organising this challenge...I love and enjoy your weekly courses and I am learning each week about different appetizers.Let me share about savory appetizers today!
Savory appetizers are served in small amount and they can be cold or hot.They can be meat based,sea food,finger foods or vegetarian containing dishes like kebabs, nuggets, shrimps,mini sandwich, veggie rolls etc.If they are served in little quantity then they stimulate hunger meanwhile if served in large quantities then they make tummy full and in this case they alcan also take place the meals.
Ingredients
Ingredients | Quantity |
---|---|
Chicken | 300 grams |
Tikka masala | 1 teaspoon |
Red chilli powder | 3 pinch |
Black pepper | 4 pinch |
Salt | Half teaspoon |
Soy sauce | 1 teaspoon |
Vinegar | 1 tablespoon |
Orange food colour | 1/4th teaspoon |
Take a bowl and add chicken in it.Mix all spices including red chilli powder,back pepper,salt,tikka masala,food colour in it.
After adding all spices add soy sauce and vinegar in it.
Mix all spices well so that chicken may get properly marinated.
Add one tablespoon oil in a pan and add chicken in it that we marinated for 5 hours.
Fry it for 2 minutes and then cover it with a lid and let it cook for 8-10 minutes.Juicy chicken chunks are ready.
Take BBQ sticks and start decorating the sticks by assembling veggies where I am assembling cucumber in place of capsicum and tomatoes.I cut them in rectangular shape and now I am assembling them.
Here I am done with assembling chicken pieces with veggies so see how much colorful and presentable these are looking.
Lastly here is final look of recipe with a healthy dip of mint yoghurt chatni,with an identification mark!
Other examples of savoury appetizers that I like are below;
• Chicken samosa.
• Chicken nuggets.
• Chicken seekh kabab.
• Chicken rolls.
• Chicken pakora.
• Beef chapli kabab.
Following are the guidelines for serving right portions of appetizers!
• If there's an event at which primary dish is an appetizer then there should be 6-7 bites served per person.
• Appetizers should be minimum 1 inch and maximum 3 inches in size so 4:3 should be served per head respectively.
• 1/4th to 1/2 cup per serving is good.
• If there is another main course at an event then serve appetizer in little quantity like in bite size 3-4 bites per head.
