My Boxing Journey

in #boxing7 years ago

Yesterday was day one. I got on the heavy bag for an hour and a half then shadow boxed for a half hour. It felt good to sweat, to feel the salty sting of sweat in my eyes made me get up and go another round.

I kept strict and followed my list of combos:

  • jab, jab, cross
  • jab, cross, lead hook
  • cross, lead hook
  • cross, lead hook, cross
  • jab, rear uppercut, lead hook
  • jab, lead uppercut, lead hook
  • jab, cross, jab, cross
  • jab, cross, jab, cross, lead hook
I paid attention to my speed. Slowed down when I got the combo wrong, said out loud each punch to keep myself inline with the drill. Sometimes I throw a strange punch that isn’t the combo and it really confuses me. So I start over.

It’s a drill. There is nothing you can do about it you must get it done and you must repeat. Practicing is how you become relaxed.
