There is something about making food yourself that just makes it taste better (using fresh ingredients not taken into account). The flavor just somehow never grew on me. I remember eating it when I was small and absolutely hating it, it is I think that memory that scarred me for life :p. I have the same with kiwifruit, the first one I ever ate was completely unripe and sour, I've never want to touch it again :p. Once I'm home from vacation (I'm in Denmark now) I really want to try the beetroot with lemon however, I've got a new mixer and am reaching every opportunity to use it. I'm thinking of adding something like forest fruits to the mix however, the sugars from the fruit can make it a interesting drink before I go running or swimming

Hey @margot, I made a mix using 2 beetroots, half a lemon and 2 bananas. It ended up in mash that was way milder than I was used too. The beetroot milded the banana's sugar as well and the taste was quite neutral. It should be a great mix for before sports because of the added sugars but it is a bit too heavy to eat it right before any physical activity. If you end up trying it the way that I used it I recommend eating it 30 - 45 minutes before going for a run. Thanks for the lemon tip it really turned out well :)
