Original Art Photography Series by @velimir #169 'Seven'

in #art7 years ago

The name of this art photograph is: 'Seven'

As those of you who follow my art-photography blog for some time, know very well that I love the minimalistic approach and very often search for simple and clean motives. This is definitely one of those. Seven shadows and seven light leaks are creating an interesting perspective on an uneven gravel surface. It wouldn't be half as good if the surface was even. I love the curved and uneven messy lines, appearing as if painted with a brush.

Smooth, subdued colour toning plays an important factor in this photograph. Try looking for modest hues of bluish, greenish, yellowish and light purple, mixing with each other to create a specific look and feel of this photograph. The shadow and light direction is also important. Lines go from the bottom left corner toward the top right adding an uplifting feeling of positive progress. Unless one needs to convey some negative or blocking thought, this is quite an appropriate way to compose.

Why seven? Seven is a number emanating from everything. Every religion has it and every scientist is aware of its importance at the same time. Wherever one digs, in whichever field of life or existence, number seven will be there. Smiling at us, mysteriously.

Many have tried, but nobody ever proved why or how this happens to be. Why there are seven colours of the rainbow? Seven continents? Seven days in a week? Seven heavens? Seven energy centres of the human body in eastern medicine? Seven notes on a music scale? Why is number seven taking a significant place in every of the world's religions?

No idea. But it is so!

Enjoy! :)

It's indeed minimalistic, but the uneven surface made it very interesting. Nice shot!

Very nice photography.
All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsions, habit, reason, passion, desire.

Interesting!

I can tell that we, Jews, have a lot of meaning to the number 7 - it resembles the wholeness that is still in the realm of the perceived world - God created the world in seven days, the seventh day is holy etc. (8 is the wholeness above the perceivable but it's a long story :)

what amplifies the feeling of flow in this photo is that the only material in the photo is gravel, pictured in such way it almost looks like sand - every little piece kind of merges with the others and together they build a somewhat smooth surface. the eye is also carried in a prompt manner from left to right with the narrowing shadows so the surface looks even smother.
but - if we take a second look we can see that those are actually separate little stones.
If we want to take something out of it - it could be a metaphor of everyday's life - we flow with our days, day after day, and it's ok - it's how we live. but - we should remember to take a second look from time to time and find the significance, separate moments that happen now and then and cherish them. it might be what keeps us flowing with life full steam.

Velimir, thanks for making me contemplate some :)

Hey. So true the number 7 has a important role. Thank you this was a great read. I loved it.

Welcome Guys to the Art Photography SEVEN by Our Lovely Friend @velimir

Let me throw light on this great Art work in my own way;
Well Guys! This photo was taken on Moon back in 1626 :P by James Bond 007. That is why Veli put it's name as Seven Art. James Bond has a very big Flat there on the Moon in which he has Seven rooms. He also has Seven different Lenses for a single camera. This photo is about Rainbow actually. Level of gravity and acceleration on Moon is really different than our Earth. That is why we can't see rainbow with two eyes for this we need one and half eyes or a Half eye is enough :D :D :D
Believe you me you really don't need SEVEN eyes to feel rainbow :P

P.S: Jokes apart @velimir Nice work Man, Keep sharing such beautiful and different Art with Steemians

Believe you me i counted for several times number of lines is 5 :P :D

Stay Blessed, Steem On!

Man this is lovely I keep admiring your works, one day I could end up like you. Thanks @velimir for sharing.

Most Bible scholars believed that 'SEVEN' signifies completeness or perfection, for example the "seven sprit of God" and "the seven lamp stand" in the book of Revelation. Hence It seems that the seven shadow and seven light leaks in your art-photography is way the picture chooses to express itself that you deed a complete and perfect job. Don't you think so?
