RE: Original Art Photography Series by @velimir #169 'Seven'
I can tell that we, Jews, have a lot of meaning to the number 7 - it resembles the wholeness that is still in the realm of the perceived world - God created the world in seven days, the seventh day is holy etc. (8 is the wholeness above the perceivable but it's a long story :)
what amplifies the feeling of flow in this photo is that the only material in the photo is gravel, pictured in such way it almost looks like sand - every little piece kind of merges with the others and together they build a somewhat smooth surface. the eye is also carried in a prompt manner from left to right with the narrowing shadows so the surface looks even smother.
but - if we take a second look we can see that those are actually separate little stones.
If we want to take something out of it - it could be a metaphor of everyday's life - we flow with our days, day after day, and it's ok - it's how we live. but - we should remember to take a second look from time to time and find the significance, separate moments that happen now and then and cherish them. it might be what keeps us flowing with life full steam.
Velimir, thanks for making me contemplate some :)
