Why wouldn't people dare bring it up? The hardest thing about that topic is covering it properly. I'm glad I seem to have done okay in that department and that it resonated well with someone who has been there done that, I'm kind of unreasonably stubborn so my experience there is limited.
I probably need practice with bad endings as I do like to always end with at least the suggestion of a positive even if the ending is generally bad/dark XD And at any rate all these kids grow up (not by much) and meet each other and good things spiral from there (eventually, as they have to get through a bunch more crazy first XD).
You know I have no problem whatsoever with your essay comments so if you feel the inclination go nuts :D and equally fine if you don't :)
Which project are you talking about, mine (AER-verse) or hayrunners? Hayrunners is easy, if you have some spare steem/sbd you can make a direct donation to @teamaustralia with the memo "hayrunners", or buy some raffle tickets (they cost 0.5sbd each), no time commitment required then.
Keep keeping your things together, you need to be able to manage how things are going with yourself before you're able to help other people :)
Then this acts as a great prelude! Disjointed stories are my jam. Tying them all together is just great fun, for a reader and the writer. All those minute nods and easter eggs all come to fruition once their stories weave!

It's one hell of a prelude and might be about as disjointed as they come ;D Zara, Dak and Zul'jinn are 11 in their pieces, the twins are 16-17 I think (I'd have to check their timeline to be sure). Zul'jinn is a year older than Zara and Dak and the twins are a year older again. They all meet up when the youngest two are 17 XD
