I really love how you framed this, MATEality! Three disjointed stories all tied together by one common denominator: HOPE.
That's a really understated thing isn't it? Talking about loss of hope. It's such a silent thing that most people won't even dare bring up. Even though it isn't the end-all-be-all, it really sets the dominoes in motion. I know (many times) how it feels like to dig yourself a hole, so I know how hard it is to claw your way out.
I like how all of the stories ended on a positive note. The complementing song really drove it home for me. The images really capture the essence of each individual story and it really sets up the story quite well.
This is such an awesome project you're involved in, mate. I wish I could allot more time to help out as well, but I could barely keep everything together on my end. I wanted to write my thoughts on the individual stories but even my general comment is already quite lengthy. I just wanted you to know what a spectacular post you put up here and you deserve all the reads (and votes!) that would inevitably come your way :D
Glad you managed to get through it all matey XD LoL mateality XD I think it's going to be a while before I am able to stop laughing at the things you come up with XP
Why wouldn't people dare bring it up? The hardest thing about that topic is covering it properly. I'm glad I seem to have done okay in that department and that it resonated well with someone who has been there done that, I'm kind of unreasonably stubborn so my experience there is limited.
I probably need practice with bad endings as I do like to always end with at least the suggestion of a positive even if the ending is generally bad/dark XD And at any rate all these kids grow up (not by much) and meet each other and good things spiral from there (eventually, as they have to get through a bunch more crazy first XD).
You know I have no problem whatsoever with your essay comments so if you feel the inclination go nuts :D and equally fine if you don't :)
Which project are you talking about, mine (AER-verse) or hayrunners? Hayrunners is easy, if you have some spare steem/sbd you can make a direct donation to @teamaustralia with the memo "hayrunners", or buy some raffle tickets (they cost 0.5sbd each), no time commitment required then.
Keep keeping your things together, you need to be able to manage how things are going with yourself before you're able to help other people :)
Then this acts as a great prelude! Disjointed stories are my jam. Tying them all together is just great fun, for a reader and the writer. All those minute nods and easter eggs all come to fruition once their stories weave!
As much as I want to, I fear I have very little energy to spare these days. Don't worry though, I'm just recharging my batteries!
I read this late and have already spent the 0.5 SBD that I have! Is it okay to send 0.5 STEEM instead?
It's one hell of a prelude and might be about as disjointed as they come ;D Zara, Dak and Zul'jinn are 11 in their pieces, the twins are 16-17 I think (I'd have to check their timeline to be sure). Zul'jinn is a year older than Zara and Dak and the twins are a year older again. They all meet up when the youngest two are 17 XD
I am having so much fun sharing and writing these out! Though I have to admit I'm suffering a fair bit of this
I...have no idea actually, @bmj is probably the one to ask. I've dropped him a line on Discord, you could probably ask him on a comment on the post (unless the mention summons him).
Recharge away! That's a thing that needs to happen :)
ps bmj says you can send steem but please try to make it the sbd equivalent :)
