PRESBYOPIA(OLD EYES)
Hello steemian friends wherever you are, meet again with me @iqbal-pasee, one of the atomians member in Indonesia.
On this occasion I will discuss about presbyopia or old eyes.
At a young age our eye lens is still flexible and has good accommodation power, but by the age of forty the eye lens begins to stiffen and loses accommodation power. So that it cannot focus light precisely on the retina, this condition is called presbyopia.
Presbyopia is not a refractive error or a disease that can be prevented, this condition is normal and will occur in all old eyes regardless of the refractive condition of the person when he was young.
Complaints that are usually felt are complaints of seeing at close range, such as reading, writing or inserting a thread into the eye of a needle.
Clinical symptoms that arise can include tired eyes, watering and often feel spicy. People with presbyopia need positive vision reading glasses whose size depends on age.
The age of forty years requires a positive visual lens of 1 diopter which is increased by half a diopter for every five years, the maximum is 3 diopters at the age of sixty years or more. If long-distance vision is difficult, people with presbyopia should wear bifocals or dual lenses. The negative lens is at the top and the positive lens is at the bottom.
"Remember prevention is much better than cure"
So much information from me about presbyopia or old eyes, hopefully it will be useful and look forward to the next tips in my post.
Thank you for dropping by at my writing. Until we meet again in my next writing.
