【Original】【Romantic Love Stories】【Do Everything to Love You】Chapter 31: Unconvinced of Her Lack of Feelings

At the engagement banquet, the Yin family officially announced the engagement between Yin Shaojie and Xiao Xiao to all guests.

In order to allow the couple to cultivate their relationship, marriage was not urgent, and both were still below the legal age for marriage.

Just as Yin Shaojie sighed in relief, his mother, smiling warmly, added, "Once Xiao Xiao turns eighteen, you can marry abroad."

Yin Shaojie rolled his eyes in silent exasperation.

Xiao Xiao pulled him aside, her expression filled with displeasure. "Do you really not want to marry me?" she asked.

Yin Shaojie smirked mischievously, pulling her close and draping his arm over her shoulder. His warm breath brushed against her ear, sending a shiver down her spine.

He whispered, "Xiao Xiao, could it be that you've been harboring a secret crush on me all along? Is that why you want to marry me?"

Her heart had already begun to race from his proximity, but upon hearing his words, she glanced at him and pushed his head away. "Who on earth would have a crush on you! I’m doing this out of obligation, alright?"

"Well, that's a relief," Yin Shaojie teased, "Then let’s rebel together. Your father adores you; there’s no way he’ll force you to marry someone you don't like."

At those last words, he furrowed his brow, wondering—did this girl truly not have any feelings for him?

It wasn't that Yin Shaojie was self-absorbed; rather, he had good reason to believe in his own charm. Every girl who surrounded him was hopelessly infatuated.

He couldn’t quite believe it—was this girl truly unaffected by him?

Xiao Xiao knew exactly what he was thinking, and she responded with a playful smile. "Sorry, I can't cooperate. No matter what, our engagement is a fact now, so you better come to terms with it."

"You’ve accepted it?" Yin Shaojie asked suspiciously, narrowing his eyes and scrutinizing her. He had the sense she was hiding something from him.

Xiao Xiao shrugged nonchalantly, "I’ve already accepted it. What are you worried about? If we get married, it'll still be a while—when I turn eighteen. There's plenty of time!"

After all, who knew what changes might occur in the meantime?

Yin Shaojie casually draped his arm around her, a nonchalant grin on his face. "I’m not worried. Marriage is marriage, what’s the big deal? Just another wife, nothing wrong with that."

As he spoke, his handsome face leaned in closer, as if he were about to kiss her.

Xiao Xiao instinctively recoiled, her face turning slightly flushed. "Hey! Don’t be ridiculous!"

"Heh," Yin Shaojie’s smile grew mischievous. "Is this what you call being ‘ridiculous’? Xiao Xiao, you vastly underestimate men. I don’t think you really understand us. If a man truly decides to get reckless, you’ll be shocked. Would you like to see how far I’ll go?"

Without warning, he slammed her against the wall, their faces mere inches apart. It seemed as though, with just the slightest move, their lips would meet…

"See how far you’ll go?" Xiao Xiao had been somewhat flustered, but now she regained her composure, glaring at him and speaking with a sudden calmness. Then, with one swift movement, she thrust her knee upward.

Yin Shaojie, quick as lightning, dodged the strike, grabbing her leg and lifting it with a wicked grin, pulling it around his waist.

He clicked his tongue in mock admiration. "I didn’t expect you to be so forward, dear wife. Since you’re so eager, I suppose I can’t hold back..."

His long fingers traced deliberately over her cheek, lingering in a teasing caress, before pinching her chin and leaning in as if to kiss her.

"Yin Shaojie!" Xiao Xiao’s face flushed with embarrassment, and she could only shout his name in protest.

Yin Shaojie, smug and triumphant, chuckled. "Say it—'husband, you’re amazing'—and I’ll let you off."

Xiao Xiao, stubborn as ever, pouted and retorted, "I won’t! You’re disgusting!"
