Entry for Zen Coloring Contest Week 45

I have been following this contest for a while now and managed to finally put something together. My normally chosen medium is actually colored pencils. Which is why when I'm given a theme I stick to the colors mentioned. Too many entered contests where I took too much liberty only to be told it's great, but you didn't follow the rules LOL. Pencil coloring is very time consuming, but satisfying. I figured I would learn a bit more about digital programs.

I love the combination of white and orange that you have used to fill the stencil. The white of the skull helps accentuate the orange within the patterns and shapes. I like that the different shades of orange have been arranged to create pretty alternating toned patterns between the segments of the different shapes, I especially like the pattern within the flower on the forehead. The pale orange circle behind the design works well to highlight the use of white and i like the texture that sits in the background!

Welcome to the #zencolouringcontest! Thanks for your entry and support!

Thanks @magiccleatus Skulls are so much fun to do. Sometimes there's beauty in simplicity.

Congrats on the 3rd place finish! Its symmetrical in design, and I like that. When there is a lot of pattern going on, symmetry is comforting.. lol. Perfect color choice too!

Thanks @bdmillergallery. I know going outside the box is a big thing when it comes to art of any sort. For me when I color (designs like these) I always seem to stay symmetrical. I also seem to stick with themes. Give me colors and I run with them.

When I paint...completely opposite. It's a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I guess that's why I stick with more abstract. I do not consider myself an artist by any means, I just try to have fun.

It's all about having some fun! That is if it's not your day job..lol. I will have to look back in your blog to see if you posted any of these abstracts.. im interested to see them :-)

You might have to go back a bit. I do have to catch up on posting the art.

WHAT???!!! lol.. get to it!! hehe

LOL ok ok... Thursday?? Will that work??
