My First Comic Con! Comic Con Buenos Aires 2018

in #youtube6 years ago

When I was a kid I dreamed of being a superhero, maybe not super, just a hero.
I would dress up as Batman and run around make-believe crime fighting.
The first time I got beat up by bully was in the 2nd grade (I think) that
was when I realized it was much harder than it looked in the comics.
And sometimes the hero didn't win. I grew up in a family full of older male cousins.
So I got all the hand me downs, this meant boxes of comics.
I spent hours skimming through the pages, radioactive spiders, giant green goliaths,
supermen and woman. I think I learned about death from the death of Superman comic.
I read it all in one night...and cried when Lois Lane held the lifeless Superman in her arms.
Comics helped me build character, made me want to make the right choices, be like my heroes.
As I got older I got into skateboarding, music, films, girls and could take care of a bully or two.
My friends didn't read comics...well not like I did. Every once in a while Id catch myself stuck
in the pages of a good graphic novel. Id say that comic books really helped shape who I am today,
I love art, films, filmmaking, and photography. Basically being creative.
And I believe that in our society it's much easier to be the villain, so be the hero.
So yeah comics taught me a bunch...I just gave away a box of comics.
I thought maybe some kid could learn something from um.
I don't read as many comics as used to but I still love everything they represent.
So I went to comic con in Argentina, my first comic con.
