Paddle Board Yoga: Reasons why you should try it

Paddle Board Yoga

Combing the yoga practice, with the elements of nature, the sunshine, water, and fresh air are an intoxicating mix for your body!

Hmm...should I try it?

1.) YES! It's amazing for your health. We know that yoga helps reduce stress, stretches your body and also strengths and tones.

2.) Advanced core strength on an unstable platform(paddle board). Linking yoga and the paddle board increases the challenge overall. You're forced to recruit your core stabilizer muscles at all times. It really amps up the workout. Some techniques may vary from traditional yoga because of the paddle board environment, but for the most part, many poses will carry over.

3.) You're out in nature! Depending on where you live, maybe some friendly dolphins or whales or other sea life will say hi during your session. The sky, air, and surroundings really give you a unique setting while performing your workout. If you enjoy nature at all, this will be transformative.

4.) You can bond with your friends! As you see above, most of my friends had never tried this before. It was a wonderful way to share an experience together that we all thoroughly enjoyed. No matter how new or advanced you are, anyone can enjoy it.

5.) And finally, anyone can do it! Young, old, even if you just lay on the board and enjoy the setting you'll benefit from at least trying.

Give it a try this weekend :)

Let me know if you've tried it and how your experience was below!

I'm gonna need a class on just balancing on one of those things then maybe we can talk yoga...

Haha, that's what my friend said. She did an hour on the board around the harbor the day before the class and was relatively accustomed to it after an hour. Then she stuck to poses that kept both feet on the board. The board's a good core work out too just stabilizing yourself.

Yeah I'll take the board with the recliner on it...

Ive tried it a couple of times. It is fun and uses much more core, like you say, for stabilization.

So much fun, but my core is always so sore the next day!

That's looks like a great workout, I reckon it would kill me. 😜

Bring a date ;) You'll have a blast
