oth speakers defended the right of a Christian baker to not make a wedding cake for a gay couple. One of the speakers is an atheist and was providing that perspective. The other speaker is deeply religious and does have some views about homosexuals that I find to be unsavory.

Still, obviously, what I find to be unsavory doesn't matter. I'll defend any and all opinions being expressed freely. The Overton window should be as wide as possible.

One point of particular contention is that the conservative speaker opposes what leftists refer to "gender affirming medical care" for children. I call it "chemically sterilizing children."

Again, as far as I'm concerned, if you're an adult you can do what you want with your own body. If you feel compelled to remove fully functional extremities or other body parts, I would still encourage psychological evaluation; but, I'm on the "you do you side."

When it comes to kids, this is an important conversation to have with a level head. This is why we need free speech.

The activists and supposed allies are trying to narrow the Overton window to the point that we can't even suggest that kids who think that they're trans actually be diagnosed with gender dysphoria. They don't even like people referring to gender dysphoria as a thing. They won't even entertain the possiblity that kids are being groomed into this way of thinking about themselves.

Well, in the last few years, the number of young girls identifying as trans is up 4400%. My niece and nephew have already been telling me how being trans is becoming the trendy thing particularly in middle school. We have clinics performing double mastectomies on perfectly healthy girls as young as twelve because they started identifying as boys. Girls who started identifying as boys have started going through menopause in their mid-teens. Boys who started identifying as girls have been permanently sterilized before the age of twenty.

You might think that I'm wrong to morally oppose life altering medical procedures on perfectly healthy kids. Fine, come at me. I won't attempt to silence you. I won't walk out of the room if you open your mouth. I'll engage with you and, if you're smart, you'll admit that you're wrong.

This is the reality of this tactic. When you have so little courage and confidence in your positions, all you have is silencing reason.
