RE: Timelaspse #44? I Think?

My children has dual citizenship, Russian and Norwegian. It's quite important, one of the reasons is that they are eligible for free health care in Russia.

Most Norwegians are a bit like ... "say what?", the idea being that the Norwegian health care system "of course" is superior of the Russian health care system, and that nobody in their sane mind would want to visit a Russian hospital.

Our eldest had some problem that required surgery. We tried getting it done in Norway. In January we visited the hospital to get an assessment. We had an appointment at 11:00, at 18:00 we finally got to see the doc. The doc told us nothing we didn't already know ("seems like surgery is needed"), but he could put our son into the waiting list for an operation.

During the summer vacation he went to visit his grand parents in St.Petersburg. They were like "Whats this? Why haven't this problem
been fixed yet? Lets take him to the hospital at once!". They got the choice between paying some small fee to get a same-day operation, or to wait for a full week ... they chose the latter.

We moved to the "far south" that summer, Oslo. In the late autumn, we got a telephone from the hospital back in our old home town, Tromsø. "We have observed that you've moved to Oslo, maybe you want your son moved from the waiting list here in Tromsø to the waiting list in Oslo?"
