Deciphering Bliss
Deciphering Bliss
The room hushes itself with the queue of departing guests while
My mind races back and forth trying to memorize his lingering touch;
I wonder silently if my accent offended or simply imparted mirth
And doubt whether I will recall each of their names on the morrow.
Turning myself out onto the small balcony which protrudes slightly
Over the street, I reflect for a moment on the improbable events
Leading up to this epic interlude and finally remember to exhale.
Welcoming the sea-cooled air that glides in from the bay, I listen as
He bids the last of his dearest friends, "Trugarez, noz vat." I shiver.
My heart accelerates a bit with each step that carries him nearer.
Our words collide midstream, and we tumble into a round of tear-laced
Laughter, watching each other's inner deliberation suspended in awe.
All of the questions, the answers, the sharing of dreams and notions
Will take days, perhaps years to divulge. Oh how his eyes undo me.
I steady myself against the iron frame of the balcony door anticipating
My own weakness as his lips settle gently upon mine. The world stops.
As callous scars and fears of old yield to the tenderness of his ministration,
A passion that has been buried for far too long commences its slow burn.
And the pearly moon spying from above weeps as a testament to our love.

Simply Beautiful...:)
Many thanks!! :)
That's a great line.
:D Thank you..... I secretly wonder that for real sometimes. I'm a hillbilly :D
I come from Western Kentucky hillbilly stock, but I've long gotten over it and actually look at it fondly now. I enjoy the reaction of people when I tell them I used to live in a trailer in a cornfield.
I love your writing style! Upvoted and Followed!
Why thank you! I appreciate it :)
