And Now For a Little Dose of Poetry
ALL THE BITTER DRAUGHT
source
I
Don’t write, Think!
Think, poet, Think
Of all the justice in the world
Which cruelly are undone.
And Think, poet,
Don’t write, Think
Of all the bitter draught
Of injustice, which, with a grin
And a scrupulous gesture,
Every second is served.
Don’t write, poet,
Think, and ask yourself,
With an heavy hand providing
Needed Support for the chin,
While you stare
With teary eyes within;
Is this what we deserve?
Think poet, and ask yourself;
What should I ask myself?
Ask why you, who every single day,
Hopes and Hopes and Hopes;
Ask why everyday
Your own Hopes lets you down.
When will you cease to hope
poet
That you might realize your folly?
