Gloomy Day and Optimism

in #writing7 years ago

Today is September 21, and it's officially getting so cold in my country that I had to turn the heat on.

But that wasn't enough, Minnie and I got under the (same, small) blanket, and we are waiting for the spring to come. During this cold months the only thing I want to do is sleep, watch movies and sleep some more.
But there is some things I look forward to (surprise!), and I try to focus on the positive:

  • Skiing - This was one of the only winter activities I loved since I was a child. Last year my fiance asked me nicely (made me) to try skiing again, after 10 years. And I can't thank him enough. It was hilarious in the beginning, I was like a Bambi on ice (you know that cartoon), but after a few very painful falls I managed to stay up right just enough to have fun. I remembered how much I loved it, and how stubborn I am when learning something new.

  • Mulled wine - oh this one of my favorite drinks. If you haven't tried it, please do. The spices, smell and the warmth of it will make any cold day ten times better. We even make our own at home, you have great recipes online. We mix all the spices in empty tea bag and put it in to warm glass of wine. Delicious!

And that is about it, if it was up to me this two activities would make my whole winter better!

Be sure to leave a comment, I love to know what are your "remedies" for gloomy days?

With love,
Tamara
