Did you know # 12: 6 stories of hellish revenge

in #writing5 years ago

What do the Divine Comedy, the Count of Monte-Christo, an armored Bulldozer, the Mongol army, or the Boadicean Queen of Celts have in common? You'll discover it with these 6 little Kill Bill trendy revenge stories , which show that some people ... really did not have to bore them!

Kung-fu Trung

Trung Trac and Trung Nhi were two sisters living peacefully in the first century of our era in a small village in Vietnam. At the time , the province was regimented with an iron fist by the Chinese Han dynasty, who did not like their subsidiary companies to be independent, and oppressed the Vietnamese people blatantly, going as far as their own. ask for taxes for any fish caught.

So when Trac's husband, Thi Sach , ventured to speak out against the abuses of the Chinese, they promptly decided to close the debate with exemplary brutality, in order to dissuade the future rebels, and thus undertook to execute Thi Sach, then to look for his wife, Trung Trac, to punish her by raping her, because ... Why not?

Revenge!

We, as we now know, Vietnamese are a proud and tough people, and it is the most powerful country in the world , it is better to take precautions when dealing with them. A large part of the Vietnamese population is initiated from an early age to martial arts, collective strategies and individual combat . At that time, Vietnamese women were also quite free (in relation to the periods that followed): they could inherit, possess property, and could educate themselves or take commandments. The Chinese, by their traditions, considered women as relatively useless from a societal point of view. Unfortunately for them, Trung Trac and Trung Nhiwere among those Vietnamese women who had spent their childhood, bathed in the arts of war .

In order to avenge the deceased husband and reward Chinese cruelty, the two sisters raised an army by performing some legendary acts, such as chasing a fearsome tiger that was harassing villagers. It recruited nearly 80,000 women fighters , and 36 generals chosen from among the women of Vietnam, then in a continuous forced march for the liberation of the country, the two sisters released more than 65 fortresses and citadels, attacking the armed forces (and men) Chinese to reject them outside their province.

Although the Chinese army ends the rebellion brutally, China's history pays little heed to this epic, in which women have blithely kicked male backs for almost 3 years, freeing the provinces by ejecting the famous Asian male warriors. Legend has it that during their last battle, the Chinese were reduced to a surprise attack in order to get rid of the Vietnamese women's army, which could explain why China today refuses to recognize that happened at that time.
Buddica the Celtic against the Roman Empire

The Roman Empire is not, strictly speaking, a peaceful empire. In fact, most historians will tell you that this empire is more like the galactic empire of Star Wars: oppressive, destructive, cruel. So, when Prasutagus , the King of the Celts, was on the verge of death, he took the precaution of leaving half of his empire to the Romans and their emperor, Nero, so he thought that at least one other half return to his people, and to his beloved Queen Boadicea (Buddica). But Rome had other plans, and if apparently the Romans respected the division, Boadicea, her two daughters, and her people, suffered daily humiliation of the Roman people, until the day Boadicea and her two daughters were raped and flagellated.

Revenge!

But the Celts are not known to be one of the sweetest people: they gave birth to ferocious warriors whose barbaric acts have earned them a frightful fame. And touching their queen, was a bad idea, since this act triggered a revolt that the Romans would remember. Boadicea, at the head of an army of rebels, first attacked the city of Camulodunum, which she razed completely, and began to march on London. Boadicea and her Celts, known for their barbarism (one of the practices of war they appreciated, was to cut the heads of their enemies to plant them on pikes), swept over Britain as a murderous wave that left no surviving Roman. Finally arrested in the year 61,80,000 colonists and Roman soldiers , some of which were pyramids made of piled heads.
The Divine Comedy

At the end of the 13th century, the Italian Pope Boniface VIII divides the Florentine population, half of which is befitting of his presence, while the other, of which the government in place, would like to drive him away. Boniface is indeed on good terms with the French prince Charles de Valois , well-known to ogle the Italian lands. The pope is a good god of French collabo , what. To the point that it allowed Charles de Valois to become the " protector " of Tuscany, which was opposed by the Italian government and local politicians.

One of the principal, Dante Alighieri, came against the Pope in the hope of making him listen to reason. The Pope then played a particularly vicious move: bringing Dante Alighieri to stay a few days at his place as a distinguished guest, the Pope secretly orders Charles de Valois to invade Tuscany, to execute the government and replace it with another who would be more favorable to the Pope. To top it off, the Pope confiscated Dante's property, and ordered his exile ordered by proclaiming his death sentence if he returned to Florence (order that will otherwise be repealed ... in 2008 ).

Revenge!

The pope probably should have killed Dante rather than chasing him after such an affront. Dante chooses writing to take revenge on his enemies, writing what will become one of the major works of literature of that time, the Divine Comedy .

The beauty of this work, its rhythm, its rhymes, its humor, will make it a piece that will transcend cultures, but above all, that will be known throughout Italy . During the elaboration of the Divine Comedy , Dante drew inspiration from all the people he wanted to take revenge for, reserving a special place for Boniface VIII.

The extraordinary success of the work will force some families to change their name, or spend fortunes to counter the damaging effect of the Divine Comedy on their relationships or businesses. It's a bit like nowadays, Yannick Noah released an album of songs in each of which he named you personally and said how you are a bastard ... and that this album is bought at 30 or 40 million copies, goes on radios and on TV ...
Patience and length of time

In 1807, a Frenchman by the name of Pierre Picaud , simply owned everything he wanted in life. A good job as a shoemaker, a pretty house on the French Riviera, and a rich, young and pretty girlfriend whom he was to marry shortly.

He also had three dear friends, Loupian , Solari, and Chaubard , who were secretly enraged at his situation, and set up a ploy to remove from Peter this unbearable joy of living. He sent a letter to the authorities, denouncing him as an English spy.

It is his story that was the basis of Alexandre Dumas ' famous novel , The Count of Monte Christo . Picaud was arrested and imprisoned at the fortress of Fenestrelle, without even being informed of the accusation. There he will find a friend, Father Torri , who is also detained there. Meanwhile, each of the three friends lives comfortably, Loupian even going to comfort (sexually) the ex-girlfriend of Picaud.

Revenge!

The story is known through the story of Allut, also former friend of Picaud. In the midst of the attempt of the three friends to dismiss Picaud, Allut feared for his life and would have assassinated Picaud after his revenge was consummated, and will confess it only on his deathbed. This is one of the most incredible stories of revenge in France, and we understand that a book was dedicated to him!
We do not mess with Ghenghis

After conquering most of Asia at the head of his legendary warriors and mustaches, Ghenghis Khan opts for peaceful contact with the empires of the Western Lands. As a sign of goodwill, he dispatched a group of traders to the Khwarezmid empire with gifts for the Sultan.

The Khwarezmids and their governor Inalchuq of Otrar seemed uninterested by this mark of friendship, and out of 450 Mongolian envoys, they killed 449, and sent the last home.

Annoyed but wishing to give his neighbors a second chance, imagining that they might have misunderstood his peaceful request, Ghenghis sent a delegation directly to the Shah Ala ad-Din Muhammad II . The Shah replied by cutting off the ambassadors' heads and sending the decapitated interpreter back to his master's house.

Revenge!

When he learned the tragic destiny of his ambassadors, Ghenghis climbed into the mountains calmly to reflect on the situation. After a few days of meditation, he came back refreshed, and decided to offer the Khwarezmid a visit of the kind we appreciate only when they come to an end.

Ghenghis deployed his four war dogs, including the famous Subutai , one of the greatest generals who lived. After a siege of more than 6 months on the citadel of Inalchuq, and thanks to the new technologies resulting from his Chinese conquests, Ghenghis obtained repair by shaving the city and by killing all these inhabitants, Inalchuq included. Ghenghis then attacked the Shah, with 200,000 warriors against an army 5 times greater in number, which he also destroyed. He completely shaved, on this occasion, the city of birth of the Shah. According to legend, the Mongol warriors killed all men, women and children, and even cats and dogs were spared. The entire Khwarezmid empire was razed, and those 4 million people killed. The Shah fled to a small Caspian island where he died alone, ruined.

This confirms the famous saying " Do not blame the messenger ". Especially when you are dealing with Ghenghis Khan.
The revenge of the Killdozer

The latter is more recent and surprising, since the story takes place in 2004. In the 1990s, Marvin Heemeyer , a small owner of a chain of stores, former Air Force, was known to his friends as a person nice, happy. However, all agreed that it was better to be his friend than his enemy.

What the mayor and the board of directors of Granby (Colorado) chose, the city in which Heemeyer owned one of his stores. One of the families of the city wanted to buy a land Heemeyer, but he asked for an exorbitant price, the mayor finally decided to re-zoner the area around the store, to take possession of them and sell them . The surrounding lands no longer belong to the town, the Heemeyer store had no way to reach the road and was therefore in the uncomfortable position of having a store without entry. After several years of legal conflict, Heemeyer resolved in 2001 that the authorities win, legally. He had to withdraw, sell his shop for a pittance and pay extra costs and a fine for the various actions taken. In spite of petitions and letters to the administration, the situation no longer evolved.

Revenge!

But he refused to stop there, and to avenge himself for the authorities, began to modify a Komatsu D335A bulldozer: he began by adding a composite armor made of steel and concrete , protecting parts of the bulldozer, drilling holes for allow rifle fire , set up cameras connected to the cabin that would allow him to observe the outside, and store a stock of water and food. A year and a half after the beginning of the construction of the Killdozer , he finally settled in his machine, completely sealed the entrance and began to hit the streets of the city in his new home-made tank, towards selected objectives to advance.

On June 4, 2004At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the first building was destroyed. Two hours later, when several buildings were already razed, cars disemboweled, cops whose weapons and explosives had proved totally useless, the killdozer rushed to the last target, injured but still active. His road will end when attacking the first wall of the next building, the ground will hide under the monster's tracks, paralyzing it.

A Swat crew will show a slight " muffled shot " sound as they attempt to gain access to the sealed Killdozer cockpit . More than 7 million dollars in damage, impotent authorities,is the price of Heemeyer's revolt against his humiliation, against the corrupt public services ... For a story of small communal road cut!

This one ... really did not bother him!
