Extreme Freedom

I was listening to Megan Phelps-Roper, a writer and educator, talk about why she left Westboro Baptist Church in a TEDNYC talk and she made mention of how her background shaped her life and almost controlled it.

Being a Westboro Baptist Church member, she was brought up to believe the only good that exist in the world can only be found in the church, her church. After certain engagements on Twitter she became doubtful of her engraved beliefs and that was how she gained what I'll call Extreme Freedom.

The motto of my faculty, the Faculty of Science, University of Ibadan will never cease to ring in my head when I'm in certain circumstances- Questions not Answers bring Knowledge. The difference between the rich and the poor is the way they seek knowledge. The poor seek answers but ask no questions. They are not curious to find an answer to the numerous questions so what they do is accept the answers the rich find.

"Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance." - Confucius.

You only get to know the extent of your ignorance by asking questions. Megan Phelps-Roper gave up that ego helping her realise the extent of her ignorance. The only way we all can be extremely free is by asking questions about what, why, how, where, and in any other way we can show we want to know. Until we all live in absolute curiousity to see the roots of things that determine our well being, we will remain caged by our backgrounds, our race, our environment, our sex and so on because they go a long way to mould us.

"A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer." - Bruce Lee

Don't be a stereotyped individual, ask questions; it's only that that can help you break barriers.

I am Ogundimu Temitayo, and this is the only I know that can give you extreme freedom.
