Good take on the challenge, I like the idea! I think if I were to offer a suggestion I'd like to see a 'wrap up' on the letter to solidify the concept that it was a letter, maybe a parting jab at the world from the inmate, or some honest advice to kid or something.
Thank you. The end had eluded me, but I slept on it and think this works now. I realized the inmate never really answered the question.
