The Importance of Resteems And What YOU Can Give Others, Without Losing Yourself. [Story Time & 1 Year Celebration!]

Fellow Steemians,

Most of us know what Resteems are and most of us have Resteemed something, at some point. - Minnow, Dolphin or Whale. -All Resteems are important!

Let me share something pretty awesome, about a random guy who loved Steemit.

  • This person worked hard, put in tons of effort and made a few bucks here and there...

This person also gained followers, one after one, with time. - This person was also a Freelancer and had worked with Social media and built a handful of Social media profiles during the last couple of years.

One day, not too long ago, @ausbitbank dropped by, gave an upvote and also Resteemed some of his content. I won't do any presentations here but @ausbitbank is a really cool guy. He works hard to encourage and motivate minnows and he's directly involved in the @minnowsupport project. (The largest, fastest growing community on Steemit with more than 2000 users.)

He has more than 3,400 followers and he decided to resteem two different articles. - Can you imagine the results?

In all honesty, it's basically impossible to see the exact impact, but one can think that he brings a bunch of eyeballs to the content he Resteem. - Right?

During that time...

This person also started to get support from @teamsteem, another great guy with more than 3,100 followers. However, he did not recieve Resteems from him. - @teamsteem started to support this person with votes instead. - Which is amazing as it not only boost the rewards. It also act as a token of appreciation and this person got really motivated by all the kindness.

The person I'm talking about in this story didn't come up with the idea of helping others at this point, he did that long before this point, but he decided to do even more. With #payitforward ideas he started to help his fellow Steemians. He gave away SBD. He donated SBD for personal causes, he donated SBD to help people to travel to STEEMFEST² and he started to support his readers even more. He even gave away SBD to some of his readers who gave him great comments on his content.

He built his following...

And in little more than 4 weeks, this person have gained more than 500 followers in total. - That's basically 16 followers per day! - This person is very certain of his beliefs, and he likes to be seen as a support pillar. - Much of his content is directly targeted to minnows as he truly believes that minnows is one of the most important aspects of Steemit.

Steemit is a community. A Social Media Platform and Steemit is unique as it's the only Social Media that pays their users for their contributions. - Minnows are newcomers to Steemit so the right thing to do, is to teach minnows how to act properly. - You need to be friendly and function as a teacher to educate others. - And that's why this person decided to become a support pillar. - This person not only believes in Steemit. He also truly believes that Steemit will change Social Media in general. For everyone.

Yesterday, was magical.

Not only did this person receive an upvote from @dan, which was amazing and made him smile and to be happy. He remembered the first month on Steemit when @dantheman gave him upvotes multiple times. - And that was the best experience he ever had online. And this guy works full time online... With a single click of a button, whales can change your entire life. In one way or another. - dantheman changed mine.

  • Oh, you haven't realized this yet?

The guy I'm talking about, is me.

  • Yeah, I'm talking about myself.

Story continues..

As I am a hard working guy, like I've already stated and that most of you should've noticed by now, I published an article about whale votes. - How to get them.

  • whalii.png
    Take a look at that!

248 votes and 202 comments.

Yeah, about 40-45% of the comments are mine, as I strive to reply to each and every comment I get. (I'm sorry if I haven't replied to your comment. Even though I try to reply on everyone, I still miss a few and sometimes, I just can't figure something good to say, but I do appreciate every single one.)

And how could I reach such incredible numbers?

  • Let me share some more details!

This happened.

@joanaltres Resteemed my article...

If you've never heard of her before, make sure to read @stellabelle's interview!

I don't even have to say it..

You can think about it for yourself.. How many of the votes and new followers is based on her Resteem? - I have no idea! But the truth is, that I got tons of followers, votes and eyeballs to my post because of her.

Even though I probably got 50+ new followers and tons of eyeballs and votes, that wasn't all to this wonderful "fairy tale".

This also happened:

And not only that... This also happened!

I couldn't believe it if I'm honest... So I had to see for myself.

And what now then?!

What I want you all to understand, is that I've been a member for 1 year now, and I'm still struggling, and even though I struggle from time to time, I never give up. I push myself, I contribute, I share and I always strive to encourage, motivate and inspire my readers.. - This is only the beginning of my Steemit career. I will never stop!

You are one of the better people on this platform, @hitmeasap, and your command of English is good. No problem understanding your writing at all.

@teamsteem was one of the first people here I voted for witness. If he supports something, I know it's worth supporting.

Really good article. Resteeming this to 10,000+ followers.

This story certaintly gives me encouragement as a minnow from Australia who loves writing :)

Thank you so much @joanaltres, I'm truly honored. :)

Hi Joan! I completely agree that resteeming is very important to get out quality content. I've written an article about MinnowBooster that I think could really help people get their head wrapped around it. If possible would you consider resteeming it for me? I've followed you. Take care and thanks.

Congratulations on getting resteemed and all the positivity that came from it :) That's really good for SEO ranking now that you've got your link everywhere, tonnes of social signals and a nice boost from that backlink on the wiki! Cheers

Thank you! - And yeah, resteems are superb rewards. What people have to remember is that money is not the only reward you'll get. Rewards are comments, resteems and comments too! - All of these things are tokens of appreciation and I'd rather have a $10 payout on a post with 100 upvotes and 50 comments than $100 payouts on articles with 1 comment and 5 upvotes.

That said, I would obviously love to get $100+ payouts too, but money is a second reward for me. The other things I've mentioned is awesome for self-improvement.

I definitely enjoyed reading this. Thank you for the encouraging post. My friends on steemit, and I appreciate your writing and hard work. It's very helpful and kind of you, to take the time to do this for the community. Your success with your journey on steemit, made me smile. :)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it and I'm honored. :)

Even though work is taking much of my time ⌚ I'll try as much as possible to do more on steemit! You are some kind of adrenaline!

I'm glad you liked it and thank you. :) - Just continue to push yourself no matter what! :)

You have laid out the roadmap for everyone to follow with this post. Much appreciated. I've been on a couple of other paid websites before but Steemit is out there on a different planet and I like it...a lot.
The people here are so helpful and smart and can see the long broad picture.
I just gave this a resteem and an upvote as many of my followers are newbies too and we are all trying to figure out the way forward. This really helped. Thanks.

Thank you for your kindness, I appreciate it and I am glad you liked it. :)

My pleasure. It's great to come across such helpful information delivered in a simple to understand way. Finding your way around a new system is always tricky and everyone wants to avoid making dumb mistakes that could cost them dearly. This really helped to explain the importance of resteeming on steemit.

That's awesome. As I'm not native in English I often feel somewhat uncertain as I don't always come up with the right words or phrases to use when I'm trying to explain things. :D

However, one cannot do more than his best, and that's what I'm trying to do. And I improve my writing skills along the way too! :)

It's a great way to improve your language skills and meet new people at the same time. btw Your English is pretty good for a non-native speaker. Heck I know English people that don't speak as well as you lol

Very inspiring post!!!!resteemed this for you..my friend

Thank you very much, I appreciate your kindness! :)

Thank you. Super post. Very interesting and very well written. You present information in a very clever and insightful manner. Obviously you spent a lot of time getting it just right. Congratulation.

WOw what an amazing story of how you got to this point! Great work!! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it :)

Loved your third person anonymous story-telling all the way till the second half of your post. :) You deserve the awesome resteems. Glad for you @hitmeasap :)

I'm glad you liked it! - I've never done something like that before. At least not anything I can remember, so it was pretty fun actually. :)

It's really quite a fun & cool style, imo..I use it in talking sometimes, but only within my closest circle..others may think I went bat shit crazy ;))

Awesome work @hitmeasap this is such an inspiring post.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it! :)
