Another Place, Another Time
What is time? What we have choosed to define it as – is seconds, which is small 'moments'... A minute is not a minute, it's 60 seconds stacked together.
When looking at a clock, it becomes apparent to me that we are constantly moving – heading somewhere. Every second is a moving away from the previous, just like every step we take is a moving away from our last. We can't stop this movement – Wether we like it or not, we are on a journey.
The rhythm of life is the seconds, which is the measure of the small moments that we are confined to. Each and every second is a push forward, to whichever direction we are heading... When looking back at our past, we count the years, which isn't really something concrete – it's too big to grasp a year. Like grasping a country, which is a concept with no room for details, merely a map. You can't fill that map with all the details, because the map would become cluttered – lose its purpose.
If you were to pick up a handful of dirt from the ground, it could tell you a lot about where you are standing. And if you take a step forward, and repeat the process, the dirt in your hand would be approximately the same. But if you keep walking, step by step, the ground beneath you will change. The sum of that is a country..
8 years ago, the year was 2009. Breaking it down further; it was 2 912 days from now, which amounts to 251 596 800 seconds... All this time we have been moving – moving away from that moment, which is now 251596799 seconds away from us ... At that time I was 16 years old. Now I'm 24 years old, and it feels like I have traveled through space since then. Yet the ground beneath me is still Sweden, spring has returned like it always does...
