The Governmental-Organism

For every nationalistic identity that exists, there also exists a separate, competing identity of that of the government. The nationalistic-identity is separate from the identity of government. The governmental-organism is comprised of civil servants and elected officials that are charged with carrying out the task of implementing and enforcing the “will of the people”. That is how this organism begins to take shape. It is important to note that these organisms that are created have an intended purpose that, at the time of their creation, seems to be beneficial for the rest of the populace. Just like any man-made mechanism, once you introduce fuel to the organism, it seems to take on a life of its own. In terms of the governmental-organism, that fuel consists of a series of policies and regulations for which causes a cause and effect relationship between it and the populace it is charged with governing.

The organism itself is reactionary to its environment. Its actions are limited to the input received from the elected officials for which implemented plans for changing the policies, laws, and regulations, which causes the organism to morph on a continual basis. The fluidity of this and all organisms are dictated by outside influences causing the organisms themselves to remain in a constant state of flux. This makes the identity of some of the organisms at the smaller-scale, harder to identify, in some cases. The larger the organism, the more slowly it reacts to its environment, and the governmental-organism is no exception to this rule. Sometimes the governmental-organism reacts frustratingly slow to the ever-changing social environment for which it is charged with governing.

Multiple heads steer every governmental-organism that exists. Competing energies clash at the law-making stage of forceful change. The members take individual stances on social issues and push agendas that matter to their constituents. Favors are paid forward, and corruption is inevitable. Even the elected “leaders” for these governmental apparatuses are typically powerless to affect change on any grand scale due to the competing checks and balances that exist within most governmental bodies.

When I look at the governmental-organism for which controls America, I see a defunct, poorly designed system where corruption is not only rampant, but the very nature of the organism is dependent upon some degree of quid pro quo. The costs associated with running for one of these elected positions is prohibitive for most Americans, leaving only those that come from the “right” mold to actively participate in governance. The rich run the governmental system, and the poor follow whatever laws result from electing the “lesser of two evils” every couple of years. This leads up to the following portion of this book, where I will focus on the political apparatus and how our individual political stances dictate alignment and allegiance to another level of identity with the construct of the political-organism.

This is a writing segment for The Codex Primum. These writings are created on this platform and I intend on publishing the finished product somewhere in the future. I am a writer by trade, but these beliefs are where I have found myself. I hope you enjoyed the mental exercise this hopefully evoked, and hopefully this provoked a new train of thought, if even for just a moment.
