DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WRITE ABOUT?

in #writing8 years ago (edited)

Even the most talented writers are victim of "The Blank Page Syndrome"! So don't be too hard on yourself Steemians, considering that you are not a writer just because words or ideas don't flow to you like magic. Here is my 3 simple little hacks to overcome writer's block.

Pressure is the first thing to eliminate in order to start writing. Don't push yourself, take time to relax and to visualize what you want to deliver. The more relaxed you are, the easier it will be to get started. Do something to get your blood flowing (I like dancing). When it comes to imagination or creation, your brain can truly works by itself (without you doing anything) but you need to calm down and let him do the work. Many big inventions came in dream, so take it easy because stress will surely kill your inspiration.

You don't need to come up with an awesome personal topic. If you don't have any inspiration for your daily post, you can still do some research and learn something new. Once you have enough information on the subject then share it, using your own words, with your audience and ask for feedback since you are not an expert on it. I personally think it is the best way to improve your knowledge and that everybody should do it from time to time.

Once you have your topic, make sure to know where you want to go with it. In other words, ask yourself what do you want your reader to takeaway from your post. Your audience need to think that reading you was time well spent. The point here is to identify a message for your reader to be left with. So focus everything you write towards that main idea.

Most of the time you know what to write about but I hope those little tricks will help you on your next writer's block.

Feel free to add yours in the comments, it will be much appreciated !

Thanks for reading.
