Thanks to the Corona virus, the few remaining drive-in cinemas here are seeing some kind of renaissance lately. In the normal cinemas its rather difficult to operate safely. People have to wear face masks, only a third of the seats can be used, and so on. During the lock down they were shut all together.
In the drive-ins this wasn't a problem, if everybody sits in his own tin can together with people of the same household.
I heard of some rock concerts even, that were held in drive-ins, and other events that couldn't have held in the usual way.
But how the drive-ins continue once the virus scare is over (whenever that is) remains to be seen.
Yeah, our local drive-in is hosting a Metallica concert.
As for regular theaters, are they telling me I can't snack? Well, "You can have my popcorn when you pry it from my oily, salty hands!!!)
