'Let them Assume'.
She was never the type to pay heed to people who spoke behind their palms. No. Even the times she knew she was the topic of discussion, she never said a word. They never knew she always heard them over their whispers ..she's just too stiff' ..'i'm sure she is as funny as the next dry joke'...:She's too serious about life' . and lots of other annoying things they could come up with.
While some would come up to her asking outrightly why she behaved the way she did, probably wishing they could come to her 'rescue'.
'
If only she could summon the will to care about their opinions of her..
I think she'ld say this to them......
'You don't understand' ...'do you?'
'That for too many reasons i just can't bring myself to act like you. 'Why?' ..you ask'. Listen i'll only say this once; in as much as i might look(appearance wise) and display some behavioural characteristics as the next person, i see myself as different' . 'oh yes i do!'
Fine.. I tend to get caught up sometimes..okay..most of the time in my own world of fantasy, forgetting that life is a little more than false expectations and fallacies'. ( I think we are all guilty of that)
'Listen now...Life is more than pretense and wanting to be accepted among your circle of friends people!
'Life as i am still learning,
is about excelling in the things
you know how to do best and not
measuring yourself up to the actions of others, not minding how wrong that picture is. My worth should not be calculated or debated on because i refused to give myself up to that reckless state of abandon that has plagued this generation or the new generation..as they are wont to call themselves'.
'I refuse to be an attention seeker who believes in announcing every little achievement made. I'd rather my achievements do the talking.
I'm not like you, doesn't detract from who i am and who i'll always be..which is..The quirky girl with zero communication skills and oversized dreams.
'i'll conclude with this...
Every agent of socialization is a platform for self realization and readjustment in a society where living up to a certain standard has become a norm'.
With all that said in her head, she smiles at herself, waiting for a day she would actually be brave enough to tell 'them'
what she really thinks about them and what they feel should be the right attitude towards life. But until then, she would watch them do what they did best..'assume'.
Thanks for your good posts, I followed you! I give you a vote!
